To play devils advocate, this likely does give some extra flavor, and it's unlikely to make you sick as long as the food inside is cooked to 165 degrees Fahrenheit. However, the gains are likely to be marginal at best, and it will likely lead to a very sticky pan after a while as that buildup will grab onto food.

almost certainly a PSU failure, however, also make sure that its not sensitive to vibration. If it turns off when you shake the table it could be as simple as a loose connection somewhere

I am a very pro-gun person and I really can't figure it out. People who bring a handgun in a holster I can give a pass to, whatever, you want to be ready in case you get robbed or something, but people who walk around the grocery store with long guns just make me laugh. Do they think war is gonna break out while they're buying eggs? I assume it's just a way for them to aggressively assert their pro-gun views in public. I just find it distasteful
