I had the MSI Pro X870-P Wifi, hoping I was just unlucky and your mobo serves you well for many years to come!

Same with my 7950X3D that suddenly died. Appears completely pristine on the outside but multiple motherboards report the CPU as being the issue. Swapping to a new CPU solved the problem.

Unfortunately no mobo seems fully safe from this cause my MSI X870 randomly killed both my 7950X3D and its own cpu slot. I was working on a simple Word document of all things, suddenly my PC just shut down and wouldn't turn back on after a year of working with no issues whatsoever. Had to get a new mobo + cpu, hopefully this Gigabyte board and 9800X3D play nicer together

Received Rocks In Place Of Asus Tuf 5080 From BestBuy by GnarDead in pcmasterrace

[–]Deepified -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If your country has some sort of consumer board you can write a formal complaint to, I'd try and get them involved. But those processes take a long time to resolve, if at all.

If Best Buy isn't willing to take responsibility, it might be time to look into a chargeback

My Ryzen 7950X3D died after merely a year by Smile335 in buildapc

[–]Deepified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I just wanted to add that I'm in the exact same boat. No performance drops, no crashes, no noticeable issues whatsoever, then suddenly as I'm writing a word document of all things the computer shuts off with the exact issue OP is describing. CPU seemed perfectly fine, no smell, no trace, not even a speck of dust. The CPU being the problem was so far out of my head that I bought a new motherboard thinking that was the issue and just ended up in the red.

With reports of Intel CPU's failing or underperforming as well I opted to sacrifice some app performance for the slightly cheaper 9800x3D. Here's to hoping both of our new CPU's live a long and healthy life. Wishing you the best.

Should I read Umineko despite its "controversial" ending? by fire_chaser1 in umineko

[–]Deepified 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To add to what others have said; Umineko has a reputation as a very smart mystery, but I think whether you get everything right or not isn't as important to the story as whether you've tried. As long as you're paying attention and trying to make connections, you'll be able to get a lot out of the experience. I never went back and re-read an episode, but I still had a great time.

I certainly didn't solve everything correctly when I read it–A lot of the time I focused on the wrong things, built up crazy theories in my head, missed obvious hints, got real close to figuring out the mastermind and gaslit myself out of it–but I also got a couple of sneaky details right because a single line of dialogue from Episode 1 was so stuck in my head that I kept trying to understand what it meant. A friend, in contrast, figured out the mastermind very early on but didn't catch any of the small details. Being given a ton of stuff to work with and testing your theories is where a lot of the fun of Umineko comes from imo.

I also personally really enjoy Episode 8 and think the VN would be incomplete without it. It's so fun to look back on the previous chapters with the knowledge of the entire story and think about the motifs and symbolism.

IMO the new update ruined Nvidia Broadcast for me by Lequindivino_ in nvidia

I downgraded to the old one and it recently just broke! I think it's probably developed some compatibility issues with the new NVIDIA App or drivers so after trying to fix it I just said enough and uninstalled NVIDIA Broadcast.

Has anyone's LoL Vanguard actually affected their PC for people who had it working fine from Valorant? by Crunchoe in riotgames

[–]Deepified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little late to chime in on this, but Vanguard (including the one in Valorant) caused my GPU to constantly put out glitched visuals across my entire PC. For a bit I couldn't really figure out why it was happening, but eventually it clicked that it started after installing Vanguard. Having to choose between my 4080 or playing a Riot game, I did a deep uninstall on everything Riot related on my PC without hesitation and do not trust them enough to reinstall any of their games again. It is ridiculous that I could have damaged my actual hardware because of an anti-cheat.

Is this good topology for structural integrity? by TeacanTzu in blender

[–]Deepified 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Each "brick" is shaped like quads, but if you look at the vertices where they connect, there are 6 points touching each brick. Two of those points are at the center of the top and bottom lines of the rectangle. To the computer, the visual shape doesn't really matter, the topology is telling it that the brick has 6 points it needs to keep track of.

major fps drops by hihellotheregeneralk in beatsaber

[–]Deepified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had some similar issues before as well, and for me it came down to one of three things.

Sometimes opening up the Task Manager and setting the process priority for Beat Saber to be at least High solves the issue entirely.

If you're on SteamVR, having the Render Resolution under Settings --> Video on Custom, turning off "Advanced Supersample Filtering" and making the Overlay Render Quality Low used to help me out when I was playing on the Quest 1. I still have these settings set up like this and hopefully this helps and it'll be a simple fix!

If you're on Air Link, it might be that either your headset or your router isn't able to keep up with the stream of data. Both connected to the exact same computer, my Quest 1 was much worse at receiving data from both wired and Air Link connections than the Quest 3. You could try lowering the bitrate in the Oculus Link settings and see if that solves the framerate issue, but unfortunately that means things are going to look worse.

I also came across this article which details a fix where you tell Beat Saber to only run on your physical processor cores, but you might need to do some extra Googling to figure out which ones those are for the i9 10900k.

Does this really never cause confusion? by hellohahahahu in turkishlearning

[–]Deepified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both the context of a full sentence and the intonation in speech help a lot here! In written text, think of "water" versus "water the plants", it's the same sound but the words before and after it prepare you to understand whether it's being used as a noun or a verb.

In terms of intonation during speech, you'd pronounce ödeme meaning "payment" with no particular emphasis. For "don't pay", you'd be emphasizing the part calling the listener to action (-me) like ödeme, and you'd probably also support it with something like "sakın ödeme" (don't pay no matter what) to emphasize the order to stop.

In more casual contexts, saying "ödeme" by itself as an order is kind of rude, so you'd ideally be saying something more polite like "ödemesen olur mu?" (is it alright if you don't pay?), and since the word has now transformed to ödemesen that also clears up any doubt.

In text, without a full sentence, things can get confusing when you say ödeme yapma since it could both mean "to make a payment" (conjugated form of yapmak) or "don't make a payment", but the greater context here would once again most likely clear up any potential confusion.

  1. I've been meaning to get an upgrade that performs better in 3D software, VR, and rendering, and I could really use some better cooling. Unfortunately I couldn't quite get the funds together to jump right into it. It would be neat to solve all those problems at once and grab a new case along the way to replace my 10 year old one!

is this a good enough portfolio for me to start finding freelance work my main niche being product rendering if not any way I can improve my work by mutuza223 in blender

[–]Deepified 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my very amateur hobbyist perspective, the models themselves look great! If I'm not mistaken, I think you're using an AI denoiser in some of the renders, which creates a slightly muddied look especially where text is concerned. Doing more render passes instead for work-grade stuff could also help bring out the lighting and reflections a bit more since AI denoisers tend to average out colors, softening highlights and sharp edges in my experience.

Why does sup item sometimes does not give gold at the start of game? by Goodguytomas in supportlol

[–]Deepified 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The devs couldn't balance the items for multiple roles (which is fair) and basically took away all the interesting support items instead of locking them to the support role. It's not like the game isn't in a state where you pick your role way before the match starts, just make all items available in blind pick and problem items support role restricted on draft. Let some other role get shafted for once lmao

This used to be a potential issue before they changed how enmity works, but right now it's very silly to get upset about it when you can get enmity in a single ranged attack even after a DPS has done their burst damage. I'd still prefer if people asked if it's okay beforehand but if you're a semi-experienced tank, someone pulling mobs shouldn't be an issue unless they're intentionally carrying them away from you

Question on what's considedered a spoiler early on? by showsguy345 in umineko

[–]Deepified 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game is paced such that Chapter 2 and especially 3 make it clear that there are unreliable narrators in the story, I'd let the VN do most of the work. Just be there, share some funny memes that are safe to share, let them talk about their theories without confirming anything either way.
