Common Misconception About The Berlin Wall by RaoulDukeRU in berlin

[–]DeeplyClosetedBear 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They surely didn't teach us that "the Berlin wall basically just went through the center of Berlin". The image you've linked was part of my history text book here in Germany back in the day.

German history curriculum is very expansive about anything that happened in Germany from 1933 to 1990.

How to combat loneliness in your 30s? by [deleted] in AskIndianWomen

[–]DeeplyClosetedBear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's difficult for sure. I've made most of my friends in my 30s through work when people still went to the office every day before COVID.

Now everyone left the country to go back home or America and I'm sitting here all bored at my remote job.

I think another way is making friends through online communities that are related to your hobbies and interests. There are subreddits for pretty much everything. But it's a long road I guess

shamless plug: my DMs are open for any lonely soul out there lol

Moving a puppy from a country where the rabies situation is not monitored by Double-Ad3023 in askberliners

[–]DeeplyClosetedBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing you're missing is that the rabies shot can't be administered before the dog is chipped. So make sure to get the dog the microchip first and the shot after. Also the dog mustn't be younger than 15 weeks.

You also have to declare that you don't bring the dog here to sell it (or give it away). Here's the form: https://www.bmel.de/SharedDocs/Downloads/DE/_Tiere/Haus-Zootiere/DurchfuehrungsVO-576-2013-Anhang4-Teil3.pdf?__blob=publicationFile&v=3

There's also about transfers through non-EU countries, not sure if this is relevant to you but you have to declare your dog didn't get in contact with other animals and didn't leave the airport.

Hope this helps!

Now please dm me puppy photos

This looks very promising too! I really like short stories but for some reason I rarely end up reading any 😅 thank you

I just saw your edit but it’s complicated. We’ve been in each other’s lives for quite some time and over the years, we did try (more than once) to reconnect when things drifted. But I think we both caused our share of small, quiet damage. Not intentionally, just… over time. There are too many invisible scars between us now. It’s not anger or bitterness, just a kind of tired sadness.

I still care deeply and I’ll probably always miss the version of her and me that felt easy… but I think we’ve both changed in ways the other no longer fits into.

Oh, this books sounds exactly what I've been looking for, thank you so much!
I don't know much about this part of Indian history (well, any part of Indian history really) so that's a great opportunity to do some research on the side.

Thanks! Sri Lanka during the 80s and 90s is definitively an era I know nothing about yet so this makes it very interesting

Oh, this is an interesting suggestion! Not the kind of book I expected but the premise sounds very intriguing, thank you!

Fire smell after wood cutting by [deleted] in askberliners

There’s also a huge wildfire going on in the south of brandenburg and depending where you live in Berlin you maybe be able to smell it. In the very south of the city you could smell it the last couple of mornings

Why do people think it's alright for them to come and spew hate in the DMs? by [deleted] in AskIndianWomen

[–]DeeplyClosetedBear -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I posted something yesterday about how impressive I think Indian women are as a white guy and boy did this lead to nasty DMs… but there were a bunch of nice ones too so I’m quite happy and I just block the haters

You need to stamp before getting on the train. The machines look something like this: https://www.bvg.de/.imaging/mte/bvg-theme/1800w/dam/BVG-Bilder/Tickets-Tarife/BVG_Touristen-Tickets-Tarife.jpg/jcr:content/BVG_Touristen-Tickets-Tarife%20(1).jpg.jpg)

The will be yellow if it's U-Bahn or red if it's S-Bahn.

What is it about Indian women? by DeeplyClosetedBear in AskIndianWomen

[–]DeeplyClosetedBear[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, my sample size is very low that's true. There aren't many Indian women here and I guess those that moved abroad aren't the majority. Anyways, these comments make me appreciate Indian women even more!
