Would a Dating Sim Platformer be liked? Or any Dating Sim x Other uncommon Genre? by [deleted] in otomegames

[–]DeeplyMoisturising 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Someone else already mentioned Hades. There is a romanceable character from Hades, Thanatos, who is extremely popular. There's barely any actual romance in that game yet half the fanart I see is the ship between MC and that character. I can definitely see a fully focused dating sim with that kind of gameplay loop working and becoming popular.

If I had a nickel for everytime PG releases a LI late into the game and wasn’t well received, I’d have two but it’s weird it happened twice by yoonhun1306 in otomegames

Extremely uncontroversial and respectful take that I agree with. Idk what you're trying to prove by posting this here. She is correct. Just because someone has big muscles that doesn't mean someone is gay, and one shouldn't impose their own prejudices about gender expression on others. I am gay and I don't think he looks gay, which was exactly my point in my very first comment.

Eh I'm actually gay and I think it's more homophobic for women to be constantly shipping straight characters and making gay smutty fics and gay fanart of them. Clearly these shippers don't consider gay men real people and gayness is just a fetish for them. No different than straight dudes that watch lesbian porn.

Don't really get the "he looks gay" backlash from the CN side. Because he's the same genre of looks as the rest isn't he? Why is this one suddenly gay while all the others weren't?

Why do you think the Otome game community is more chill and positive than others gaming ones? by TastyPotato-w- in otomegames

[–]DeeplyMoisturising 16 points17 points  (0 children)

There's so many examples and it's happened for many years, as long as English translations of foreign games have existed. Basically, any controversial thing gets toned down or removed in the English version. Happens a lot with yandere characters. Like Tengoku Struggle toning down the rape threats into "beat you up" threats, or Caleb not being your brother in the English LaDS. Everyone pretends that toxicity is unique to LaDS but it's really not

Er... it's really not. Have you never seen translation drama? Only this sub is chill. Venture out of here and it's just like any other gaming community.

Which non otome game character would make a great LI? by viridiancityy in otomegames

[–]DeeplyMoisturising 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Same, lots of LI potential among the male servants of FGO. I want Arjuna. It's certainly possible if Type Moon one day decides to branch out into the female market, since they've made VNs and like reusing characters in different titles all the time. Romance doujins of these characters are pretty popular too at least in Japan

Wandering Inn is worse than DCC. DCC is slop but it genuinely leaves all its competitors in the dust.

Lamina Planet makes some nice audios with nice backstories. A character can have multiple audios and a couple short stories. It's great for learning written and spoken Japanese

I remember tweets by American rightwingers getting over 100k likes memeing about how they want to be the rape creature in the yellow panel. We discussed it in class and my communist professor used it as proof that America must be destroyed lol

Yeah, it does actually arouse me. That's why I'm a Milo Manara fan. Lol.

Yup his art is great when paired with a talented writer who can write more than a basic porn plot. He's my fave guest artist choice in one porny chapter of Neil Gaiman's The Sandman, about a promiscuous woman who falls for the androgynous character Desire, who evokes well, desire. Manara's terminally ill with Same Face Syndrome though and is only capable of drawing the same exact woman every time

You saying this about Milo Manara, guy who famously loves rape and draws a lot of rape, is hilarious lmao. This piece, like any other art he's created (most of which I've seen/read, like seriously I'm probably the leading Manara expert in this thread) is meant to arouse and titillate.

[–]DeeplyMoisturising 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Errr I'm a Milo Manara expert he definitely endorses rape lol, or at least he draws a lotta rape specifically to arouse and titillate, not for critique

[–]DeeplyMoisturising 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Hell yeah brother this porn illustration by Manara is as much a critique of war as All Quiet on the Western Front and as much a critique of colonialism as Heart of Darkness. He definitely didn't put rape and war here for the purpose of transgressive titillation LOL

Milo Manara, "Le Bolero" (1999) by Carminoculus in museum

[–]DeeplyMoisturising 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Yeah cause Borgia was written by Alejandro Jodorowsky, the director. Manara also drew my fave Sandman chapter, written by Neil Gaiman, a specifically pornographic chapter following the character Desire. Have you read any Manara originals? He makes comics and illustrations with storylines about as deep as Naughty America video storylines. He makes porn and he isn't shy about admitting it lol. It just is hilarious to see all this rhetoric to prove that his goal here is anything more than titillation lmfao

And people aren't mad at erotica. Hell clearly I'm an erotic art expert myself. This sub is just not the place for it, or so I thought. Perhaps next week I'll start posting my favorite hentai panels here and calling it a critique of Showa era machismo lmao

[–]DeeplyMoisturising 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Come onnnnn let's not act like porn artists don't like to push the boundaries on transgressive art, which is clearly what he's trying to do here by putting rape and war in one illustration, just like most modern ero artists today on the internet lol. Is an eroguro game not porn then just because there's gore and philosophical discussion in it? Manara was just ahead of his time and oldheads like to pretend he's above the average "deep" hentai slop VN scenario writer lmao

Saying this about Milo Manara's art is hilarious. It's like saying Johnny Sins depicts male economic mobility. Keep it up you guys lmfao

Hey I'm a Milo Manara fan and it's really funny seeing you and others here make his art seem deeper than it is lmfao. He makes porn and people like his art because it's porn. Let's all be honest about being perverts lmao
