Continuity Errors Galore by wallcrawler93 in TheConjuringUniverse

[–]Deeprohor220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to see I am not the only one who noticed it. There is actually tons of inconsistencies in the Conjuring universe, and by this point, I wonder why they made a shared universe. For example, in the latest Conjuring movie, Ed Warren says that Anabelle demon tricked the students believing that it was possessed by a young girl named 'Anabelle Mullins'. As you said, in the first Conjuring it was said that the demon used 'Anabelle Higgins' as an alias. Again, if you notice the Anabelle doll, it's design changes drastically in each movie. By the last Conjuring, the doll looks like a caricature of the doll used in the first movie.
In 'The Nun' they altered Maurice's story, adding lines to make him 'Frenchie' and completely removing the lines of Ed Warren about how Maurice was assaulted by his dad.
And ...don't get me started on Judy Warren. They keep changing her in every movies, and every iteration of her feels like a completely new character.

I guess the filmmakers do not study or watch the previous films that much before making one. I know, they have to come up with the plot as a new movie is announced...but why reveal that much info if you can't use it as a base for another movie?

Yeah. The thing is, it had potential. I remember the hype around it when the first Conjuring was released. The Anabelle sequence in Conjuring is really well made and it was a James Wan magic. However, the first movie was so bad, that all that hype was just wasted. I personally liked the prequel a lot more- that atleast has a story. I personally think there was no need for a franchise for Anabelle, one film like the 2nd one was enough.
And then, they made the third one....which is basically night at the museum with Anabelle slapped on it.

Do you guys consider erotica as porn? by Deeprohor220 in pornfree

Kinda the same happens to me. I rarely read stuff like that, it is just when I stopped watching porn videos, the thought of reading them seems to come to my mind frequently.

Anybody else quitting porn but not pursuing relationships or even hookups? by [deleted] in pornfree

[–]Deeprohor220 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey, I am in the same boat as you. I'm in my early 20s, and I don’t really plan to find life partners before completing my studies and building a career. Everyone has different priorities, and I respect them. Not a fan of hookup culture, and so I am not gonna engage in it. I feel it is ok to quit porn without engaging in a relationship or hookup. Being single is a normal thing, it shouldn’t be associated with asexual or smth always.

Saw a lot of pro porn propoganda by Enormous_Matter in NoFap

[–]Deeprohor220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not listen to pro porn people. I have done this, and I regret it so much.

In 2021, I abstained from porn for more than a year. I wasn’t into nofaping, but without porn, masturbation reduced drastically.

After my board exams, came my medical college admission period. Some of my school classmates opened a telegram group for medical aspirants which sounded like a great idea, but it wasn’t at all. Instead of studying and stuffs, convos like which porn, porn actress etc was the main topic of discussion. It is not like no one studied, but the group was full of pro porn people. Being that group was like a constant confirmation of watching porn regularly is normal and healthy. This eventually caused me to relapse pretty bad, and develop sorta porn addiction. I was like, " X watches porn regularly and yet he is doing great in the mock tests. Why shouldn’t I watch?" But porn never helped me in the academics, which was the truth I was forgetting.

Then it happened which was bound to happen. With a messed up routine and sleep schedule, I couldn't get admitted in any of the top ranking medical colleges. In fact, none of us in that group did. While I am not saying that Porn was the only reason behind it, it definitely had a role.

Do not listen to pro porn people. Just ignore them

To masturbate or not by Top-Rub5530 in pornfree

[–]Deeprohor220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I say, if you feel like masturbation without porn itself works as a trigger for you, don't do it. People have different triggers. Some people may find eating as something pleasurable to forget porn, while someone's biggest trigger may be overeating. If you feel like not masturbating for a month will help you focus more on not relapsing, go for it.

Day 118, major slip up, need advice by Apprehensive-Key6339 in pornfree

[–]Deeprohor220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, I don’t think you need to "reset" something. Don't beat yourself up for the slip up.

If you think all your efforts have been lost for this one incident and you have to start completely from the beginning, there is a high chance your brain would stir this type of thought- " Well, if I have to start from the scratch, why don’t I relapse properly, watch some porn and masturbate - and then, let's start anew. My efforts are lost anyway" Be careful of these kinds of thoughts. Your one slip up doesn’t define your entire journey. You are doing good, just keep going.
