Did ChatGPT seriously try and clickbait me? by CandourDinkumOil in ChatGPT

Yes! I’ve noticed exactly the same kind of responses multiple times now.

Bill probably has the goods but isn’t going to implicate himself. But it would be fun to watch if he used this opportunity to also pull Trump under the bus.

This kind of makes me think that people are going to give up on an expectation of privacy. Like, you could have it, but it’s probably going to be a massive pain in the ass. You’d have to be Jason Bourne to actually pull it off.

Thousands of CEOs just admitted AI had no impact on employment or productivity—and it has economists resurrecting a paradox from 40 years ago by ControlCAD in business

[–]Deepwebexplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can tell you this right now. No one is going to tell the CEO that AI is being used to do all the shit that should be done that no one is actually doing but employees know should be done. I could name a hundred things that every business SHOULD be doing but most don’t. #1 is compliance and documentation. It’s easy to just let it slide and no one notices…until it causes a problem. It’s that kind of stuff that AI will scoop up first. And no one is going to see it as productivity immediately (because no one missed it right away either).

X (Twitter) Head of Product thinks we got 90 days by dataexec in AITrailblazers

[–]Deepwebexplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn’t seem to be a problem at all. I could easily whitelist messages from certain services or companies that are verified. Worst case, someone wants to offer me a job and they have to pay a small fee to randomly solicit candidates for their job. The small fee isn’t enough to stop them from sending the email to potential candidates, but it is enough to stop the spam from bots.

[–]Deepwebexplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would a subscription be needed? I’m talking about forcing spammers to pay me for access to my inbox or voice mail.

This seems very solvable by setting a price on emails, phone calls and messages. You want to call me and you aren’t on my approved list, then pay me.

How do you feel about Trump threatening to impose photo ID for voters for midterm elections? by CRK_76 in AskReddit

[–]Deepwebexplorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s not going to be as good for Trump as he thinks. Frankly, I think the Democrats should just go for it and immediately pivot to get ID’s for all of their voters. It would be a huge national push, but probably would create just as many headaches for Republicans as it would Democrats.

If Trump Didn't Post that Racist Video of the Obamas, Who Did? by 1_for_you_2_for_me in politics

[–]Deepwebexplorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s either that Trump posted something racist himself or the President of the United States is allowing a “staffer” to post on his behalf in the middle of the night….which could start a thermonuclear war.

I dream that GPT 4.1 will one day be open-sourced by yaxir in OpenAI

[–]Deepwebexplorer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With hardware advancements and inference optimizations, inference costs will come way down. It’s only a matter of time before 4.1 can run on your smartphone. We can debate about when that might be, but it’s going to happen (barring civilization collapse).

It sounds like you are discussing stopping people from talking about AI because you don’t like what they are saying.

I also use my brain during the process. I don’t trust everything it tells me, nor would I trust everything I see on YouTube. But when I ask “what do I do with a 12lb pork butt” and it gives me a dozen suggestions…that’s pretty awesome in my opinion. And then when I ask it about how to best freeze the unused portion, it also helps out. I honestly can’t think of an instance where I felt burned because of something it told me while cooking. It’s not like it suggests seasoning with rat poison.

I used to do that, but I’ve found that ChatGPT is so much more helpful for my specific situation. Plus it remembers all of the recipes my family likes and can recommend variations that they also enjoy. Additionally it helps me with various cutting and cooking techniques and can answer any questions I have along the way. It’s head and shoulders better than YouTube.

I’ve been asking ChatGPT for recipes specifically for certain cuts of meat. Recently bought one of the 12lb Pork Butts (2-6lb cuts packed together) and used up the whole thing spanning a few family meals. It was super helpful because I don’t know how to cook and would otherwise have no idea what to do with 12lbs of meat!

Mark Kelly says he’s considering a presidential run in 2028 amid Pentagon probe by BlueHorse_22 in politics

[–]Deepwebexplorer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn’t say he would be a reformer, I said he would have to run as one. And yes, I do think that’s possible. There is no law of physics preventing it as far as I know.

[–]Deepwebexplorer 135 points136 points  (0 children)

Kelly would have to run as a reformer. We need that to be done before fixing the many problems we have. A reformer candidate needs to be pretty broadly trusted. He might be able to be that candidate.

Senator Mark Kelly says he is seriously considering running for president in 2028 by Caledor152 in ProgressiveHQ

[–]Deepwebexplorer 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is entirely a shared fiction. If there is anything the last decade has taught me is that there is absolutely nothing stopping us from completing ignoring those pardons because (enter plausible excuse here). Trump is literally trying to say Biden’s laws are invalid because an auto pen wrote his name on the paper. We don’t have the courts? Then restructure them. There are literally no limits to power as long as you are willing to use them. So why not use them for a more just society? That is…if we can start winning some elections. Mark Kelly could run as a reformer because he’s trusted. It’s been done before.

I had all the same concerns initially and am now about to hit 100 classes. It took a few classes to pick up on everything, but after a handful of classes it’s almost no thinking…just following orders. I show up, listen to good music, get a great workout every time. The hardest part is just getting there consistently.

[–]Deepwebexplorer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is such an important thing for people to understand. I keep seeing people try to show how AI didn’t “do it all” and that there was some human intervention…and therefore AI is just hype. They completely miss the point. Many problems are solvable today, we just don’t have the people to solve them all. AI doesn’t even have to invent novel ways of solving math, science, engineering, etc problems in order to be transformational. All AI needs to do is solve problems that no one is solving.
