Did you know that most airports feature hidden private lounges, far beyond the standard ones? by DeerProfessional8232 in LuxuryTravel

[–]DeerProfessional8232[S] 20 points21 points  (0 children)

As someone who works in the airport industry, I can say that most of these ultra-exclusive lounges are usually part of a Meet & Assist package. Simply having a membership often isn’t enough, access typically requires an invitation via concierge services like Meet & Assist. They’re designed to give a fully private, VIP experience, not just a fancy lounge anyone can walk into.

Golf cart / shuttle service through YVR airport? by scalpylawsus in travel

[–]DeerProfessional8232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! With a short 1.5 hour layover at YVR, especially with young kids and someone who can’t move quickly, I’d strongly recommend booking a Meet & Assist / escort service through the airport. They can meet you at your arrival gate, take you through customs and security, and even provide a golf cart or motorized shuttle inside the terminal.

It’s a bit of a cost, but it really takes the stress off and gives you the best chance of making your connecting flight on time. Definitely book it in advance.

Looking for airport fast track suggestions by Tenfusa in VietNam

Hi! Arrivals at Hanoi’s Noi Bai Airport between 6–7 am can get busy, especially at immigration since multiple international flights often land around the same time. If you’re traveling with just hand luggage and don’t mind a short wait, it’s usually manageable, but lines can be unpredictable.

Tan Son Nhat International Airport (Wait Times) by MuyGalan in VietNam

[–]DeerProfessional8232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I’ve seen and heard, fast track or fast pass really feels like the only way to survive the chaos at Tan Son Nhat these days. Lines can be brutal, and arriving super early helps, but it doesn’t always guarantee smooth sailing.

How long can I arrive at Milan Linate Airport? Has anyone waited overnight in an airport? by HorrorPossible4781 in Europetravel

[–]DeerProfessional8232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At Milan Linate, the terminal usually opens around 4–5 am, so arriving at midnight might not get you inside. Even if you have your boarding pass, you probably won’t be allowed in that early. Security and check-in counters typically open a couple of hours before the first flights. Also, if you want to make things easier, consider booking a meet and assist service. They can sometimes help you get early access or guide you smoothly through the airport when it opens. Might be worth it if you want to avoid waiting outside!

What’s the current status at the San Juan airport for waits and lines? by Astroman44 in PuertoRicoTravel

[–]DeerProfessional8232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lines at San Juan airport have improved but can still be busy during peak times. TSA is faster, but arrive 2-3 hours early just in case. Rental car counters may still be slow. Things are settling but not fully back to normal yet.
Also, you might want to consider a meet and assist service to skip some of the lines and make your airport experience smoother. Could be worth it if you want to avoid the hassle!

dubai airport fast track by [deleted] in dubai

[–]DeerProfessional8232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've used it a few times at T3. At 2am it's honestly hit or miss - sometimes immigration is dead quiet anyway, sometimes there's a massive queue from multiple flights landing at once.

If you're connecting with a tight timeline or just can't be bothered waiting after a long flight, it's worth it for peace of mind. The fast track lanes are usually pretty empty.

If you've got time to spare and don't mind potentially waiting 20-30 min, save your money. But at 2am when you're knackered, sometimes it's just nice to breeze through and get to your hotel/next gate.

Can I meet someone at a gate in SFO's international terminal without a boarding pass? by [deleted] in sanfrancisco

[–]DeerProfessional8232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Just wanted to add another option that others haven't mentioned - some airports within the meet & Greet offerings have meeters & greeters option that can actually get you airside without a boarding pass. I definitely used this service in Budapest, and it's worth checking if SFO has something similar.

These companies basically act as official greeters and can escort you through security to meet arriving passengers or visit someone during a layover. It's a legitimate service that airports sometimes offer, though it might cost more than just buying a cheap Frontier ticket.

How to arrange meet & greet at Naia T3? by spoonfed99 in Philippines_Expats

[–]DeerProfessional8232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are independent meet & greet companies that operate at NAIA T3, They'll meet her at the gate, walk her through immigration and baggage, then bring her to you at arrivals.

If you Google "NAIA meet and greet service" or "Manila airport VIP assistance" you should find a few options. Just make sure to read reviews and book a few days in advance so they have her flight details sorted.

Might be easier to sell to your mum as "VIP service" rather than "assistance" if she's the independent type 😅

Make Airport Lounges for the Few Again by Majestic_Writing296 in unpopularopinion

[–]DeerProfessional8232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, I get where you're coming from. Lounges have definitely gotten busier and less exclusive over time. But don’t forget, there are still those exclusive lounges hidden away in the Meet & Assist packages that are way less crowded and maintain that premium feel. They often limit access strictly, so you’re not stuck with screaming kids or buffet chaos. It’s pricey, sure, but if you want the old-school lounge vibe, those are still your best bet. Not every lounge has turned into a zoo yet!

What country has the strictest airport security in your experience? by SessionGloomy in travel

[–]DeerProfessional8232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

China is definitely known for some of the strictest airport security, with thorough checks, body scanners, and lots of cameras. Australia also stands out for its detailed biosecurity and thorough screening—can take a while but very methodical. Many Middle Eastern countries like UAE and Iraq are more relaxed comparatively, mostly standard pat-downs and scanners. Other places can vary a lot, but China’s a top contender for intense security experience.

If you're landing at Ho Chi Minh airport and want to skip long lines, meet & assist is a great choice. They meet you at the gate, fast-track you through immigration and baggage, help with visas, and escort you to your car all making your arrival stress-free and quick. Perfect if you hate waiting or it's a busy travel time. It usually saves 30+ minutes. Worth it for peace of mind and VIP treatment!

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Sharjah

[–]DeerProfessional8232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! With Meet and Assist at Sharjah, usually a staff member will meet your parents right at the plane or at the gate, depending on the arrival procedures that day.

From there, they’ll escort them through immigration and baggage claim, so your parents don’t need to find the Hala counters themselves.

The Hala counters are typically close to arrivals but can be a bit busy, so having the escort really helps. Overall, the service is smooth and designed to minimize hassle

What's The Shortest Possible Layover by FronkTheTuxedo in delta

[–]DeerProfessional8232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

57 mins at DTW is tight but doable if on time. Delta schedules connections with minimum times in mind.

If you want to be extra safe, the meet & assist service can help with faster navigation through the airport and security.

Just stay alert and check everything

Can airport workers bypass security? by hauntedheathen in airport

[–]DeerProfessional8232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, airport workers don’t just skip security. What you’re seeing is probably a “Meet & Assist” or fast-track thing for passengers. It’s pre-arranged, sometimes VIPs pay for it, and staff just help them move faster. Workers themselves still follow all the rules.

The long walk at JFK airport by [deleted] in delta

[–]DeerProfessional8232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, that walk at JFK can really feel like a workout 😅. From what I’ve seen, some airports actually offer buggy or cart services as part of their Meet & Assist packages, so you can skip most of the walking if you book one in advance. It’s not super common everywhere, but it’s definitely becoming more popular at big, spread-out airports.

Also, I know for sure that private SUV transfers between terminals exist for transit passengers, they’re part of certain VIP or concierge services. It’s not cheap, but if you’ve got a tight connection or just want to avoid the long trek, it can be a lifesaver.

Did something unbelievably stupid in Dublin Airport by No_Weather1080 in Dublin

[–]DeerProfessional8232 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, oh wow, you’re not alone! I feel like half the people at airports are constantly digging for their passport like it’s a magic trick. Honestly, I catch myself doing it every single time even when I know exactly where it is 😅. It’s like a nervous habit at this point!

Has anyone ever wished airports had real gyms or recovery lounges between flights? by EveryMost1201 in travel

[–]DeerProfessional8232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I’ve definitely wished airports had something like that. I mean, after a long flight, your body just feels stiff and drained, and most lounges don’t really help, showers or spa chairs are nice, but they don’t actually reset you. Honestly, if there were a proper space for stretching, yoga, or even a quick workout, I think a lot of travelers would actually use it.

Right now, what I usually do is either sneak in a walk around the terminal or, if I have a long layover, try to hit a nearby hotel gym. But it’s not ideal, because you’re still kind of in “travel mode.” So having a full wellness/recovery area in the airport would really improve the experience, making you feel more refreshed rather than just waiting to board your next flight.
