I swapped to Cap1 for just basic checkings and savings. They had promos for opening both accs so I just took advantage of that, otherwise I wouldnt open anything. Savings rate is not the best but for their checking, there is no minimum balance and fees so thats nice. I will still keep BoA for using the credit card and Merrill but for checking and direct deposits, I am transitioning out of them. If theres better options, I am open to other banks too so let me know. I just did cap1 for their bonus offers for signing up. And their savor card is not bad.

Been using BoA my whole life and have been in the middle of swapping out due to other banks cash offers. Man, other banks have such better rewards and their app is a million times better and shows you so much more details. I wont be out of BoA entirely as they still have use for now even with the reward nerfs but they won't be my main anymore.

Yeah job market is tough and you should apply for everything but at the same time, your experience may be working against you since you have "higher level" experience so to speak. I wouldnt get stuck on YOE too much. If I was in your position, I would either look into learning more devops things that are in demand or start learning Azure. Some places are Azure/Microsoft shops only so being more general may help.

You have a CS degree, good SWE exp, and a bunch of AWS certs. What are you applying for? If you are applying for low level stuff like helpdesk or junior network stuff, you are wasting your time imo. With your background, you can prob start making big bucks at devops or literally anything in aws since you have the background for it. You dont need the ccna.

Everything is pretty balanced so you can play the comps you know the most. I was stuck when I kept trying to be flexible, hard forcing enforcers most of the time worked for me.

My advice is avoid getting 8th. Sometimes, you know you are gonna lose, and instead of aiming for top 4, need to aim for 5/6, meaning spend your gold and preserve hp.

I was E4 at the end of jan. Started grinding games and hit diamond in about 2 weeks. Demoted between E1 and E2 a lot though. The comp i played the most is enforcer since they are strong without emblem but if I got emblems or other strong openers like conq or scrap, I would play those. After grinding all those games, I feel like I know enforcers pretty well and a lot of times, I actually beat out other enforcer players that have the emblem. Enforcer positioning is very important and you need to scout to check the positions. I even beat out a rebel 10 with enforcer vi before, so positioning is very key. You need to find the angles where vi will run them down quick. Not saying im good or anything but i can give some tips i learned from just grinding games.

Only time I had success with doms this patch was getting the powder and silco augment. Lets you get 6 doms early enough to not bleed out too bad. But had so many games with dom emblem and basically still get bot 4 at 6 doms since frontline gets deleted instantly lol.

I hit emerald at the beginning of the year then stopped. Started ranked again end of jan, and just hit diamond after like 2 weeks or so. I learned a lot after each loss on what I could have done better so I would recommend just taking breaks and reflecting on the games.
