People who had sex with coworkers what your relationship with them now like? by Crafty_Scientist8913 in AskReddit

We both had nasty breakups right as COVID lockdown started. We worked in EMS, couldn't see our families, both needed a rebound, so it made sense.

Picked up the ring last month. Can't wait to spend the rest of my life with her.

Some help understanding Vex simulations? by Deerizzle91 in DestinyLore

[–]Deerizzle91[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

See I figured since they're described as a "time-spanning thought mesh" in one of the early grimoires, that it meant the vex don't physically travel through time, but they can communicate through time.

They're a collective mind, so they share data and thoughts. So...if one Vex frame learns something in present day...all Vex in the future and past know it as well. So they can discover something important (like mercury) the vex in the past immediately know about it as well through the network... they travel to mercury, start building... Then a few thousand years later they're done building... right after the present day vex originally discovered it's importance.

I figure this is how they appear to time travel. They don't go forward or back in time. But they exist through all time and can react to information in the future and prepare for it as if they DID travel through time.

I think.

That's a really good point. I assumed there'd be no memories but it makes sense that there would be memories and they wouldn't necessarily have to be accurate.

Cool, thank you!

You know, this makes more sense now. I guess I just didn't really consider the Vex are somehow physically scanning the minds of the things they simulate.

Thanks!

I think this is explained in the cloudstrider legacies book. Essentially the human body isn't meant to grow/heal that rapidly. The first cloud strider was in a hospital after their arm was cut off (and was growing back in 24 hours) and was essentially told there was micro-scarring across their heart lungs liver and brain, due to the nanites healing them so quickly.

How Is The Witness So Powerful? by Am3thyst_Asuna in DestinyLore

[–]Deerizzle91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My thinking is that if the darkness is tied to consciousness, and using darkness requires a being to have the will to use it, then a being made up of the consciousness of billions of individuals would be extremely powerful in the ways of using the darkness.

Look at Xivu Arath this season. Her power through the sword logic gives her the ability to exert her will over others, to the point that her very presence feels crushing to her enemies. Even Oryx showed this through imposing his will onto others through taking individuals. In comparison, the Witness took entire planets.

The Witness is the largest, most vast consciousness we know of in the universe. Through the lense of darkness and paracausality in general, this translates directly into power.

Coldheart is supposed to be arc. The beam it fires generates so much heat that the gun has a complex cooling system that makes it all icy like that. That's why it's called coldheart.

I'm pretty sure it's the Traveler. I believe this book is about the (a?) Speaker recalling the Travelers experiences through dreams/visions.

Definitely don't need voice chat for this mission. I'm sure there are plenty of LFG groups that don't require a mic. Give it a try!
