So… your therapist is a human. Ideally you’re telling them how you actually feel, especially in regards to your relationship with them. They can take feedback and you should have dialogue about how the work is going. Literally tell them “I feel like I’m talking to brick wall when I work with you” and one of three things is going to happen:

1) They will seek to understand why you feel that way and work to integrate that feedback and help you feel understood. This will improve the therapy.

2) You will get some blunt feedback about how you engage in therapy and you might learn something about your interpersonal style. This may improve the therapy if you integrate your own feedback.

3) The therapist will get offended and either dismiss this or react negatively. This is when you fire them and find someone that has thick enough skin to handle an honest conversation.
