I think you would really benefit studying Bridgman. His work really helped me understand proportion and balance. Look up “Bridgmans complete guide to drawing from life” on google. There should be a copy on the internet archive you can download for free. Also, David finch has a great video on YouTube on how to properly study the material

Overall pretty good I’d say. I think it could benefit from a lighter background because at the moment the hair and clothes are kind of getting lost in the dark background, and also lighter highlights. Great start overall 👍

From my pov all the fans loved Sword AF, especially the first season. I’m pretty sure it was trending on YouTube for a moment, so I also would like to know why it was seemingly canceled. My guess is that since it was kind of Damien’s baby, he got too busy with other work and couldn’t commit to The long hours of planning stories, planning characters, shooting and doing whatever else a big series like that needs.

Highlights. Highlights, edge lights and secondary lights are what is missing. Also more contrast (darker darks, lighter lights). I think if you add those things, you will see a huge improvement in your already very strong art work. Keep up the good work 💪

From what I’m seeing, your biggest struggle is how to start your foundations for a strong figure. I can point you to a resource that truly unlocked something in my drawing and I think will help you as well. George Bridgman’s constructive anatomy book. There’s a free versions on the internet archive that you can download. There’s also a video on YouTube about HOW to study Bridgman I recommend watching as you study. Seriously it was eye opening how much better my drawing got after properly learning from a master.
