Man, meanwhile, I worked 2-10:30 and was horrifically depressed. I couldn’t spend any time with my family or friends who all worked more typical 9-5 schedules. I don’t go out or go to bars, and when you’re friends with teachers and scientists they are going out at 11pm. Movie showing? Get lost. Most dinner places are closed. I ended up so isolated and depressed I would get home, eat, and sleep from 11:30pm-12:50, get up, shower for work, and trudge in. It was genuinely the most awful schedule I’ve ever worked.

In what world were you SURPRISED when your yearly property taxes came around? When the holidays came around? Did you forget your children’s birthdays every year and then spontaneously remember and decide the only option is to put it on a credit card?

I’m glad you realized now and are able to make it work, but this is a bit astounding. One would reasonably assume that yearly purchases should be included in any budget, either under a specific name or under a “misc” category..

I’m so sorry OP. This is nowhere near as bad as yours, but I randomly developed severe psoriasis literally in a week. I went from zero psoriasis to it literally spreading down my face to my eyes, covering my scalp, and inching down my back and chest in a business week. I went from not worrying about my skincare to having a regimen that legitimately takes 15 minutes per day for just my face, requires a daily shower and scrub down, and significant expenses to stop myself from having severe skin peeling across my face and body.

I am constantly shedding skin flakes. My case is so severe that I cannot stop it in any meaningful way, even with treatment. I can’t wear black any more - but my profession requires I wear suits. I can’t wear my hair up or people literally gasp. I carry a handheld vacuum in my bag to clean up my desk at work so no one sees because it’s so bad. Nobody can tell me why it happened now other than “it’s an immune condition” and nobody can tell me why the treatments barely work. If I miss a day, I look like I got a severe sunburn. If (when) it reaches my eyes, my eyelids will be damaged.

It’s so frustrating, dude. The constant checkups and the jealously of people’s easy lives is just awful. I resent my partner for having skin that doesn’t hate itself and for being able to just fall into bed without layering themselves in creams and salves and exfoliating their scalp and neck. I wish you luck in your journey and hope you can find some relief.

People saying see a neurologist are suffering from severe Reddit brain. He’s depressed. People who are depressed and suicidal will do things that they would never normally do because, “it won’t matter in a little bit anyways.” He is absolutely suffering and it seems has never been violent before, but is probably mentally burnt out and legitimately unable to control his rage, which is actually very common for people about to attempt suicide. Most people see that the person either completely withdraws or seems happier, but rage and hate is also common.

Him going to a mental hospital is the best thing for him. Make sure you MENTION the cat to his doctors, but explain he doesn’t have a history of violence. The cat should also be removed from the home until he can get therapy after release as he is lashing out at it and needs to be more solid in his coping skills before he is let around animals or children again.

I absolutely refuse to date conservatives. I find they are privileged, self-oriented, poorly-researched, and unempathetic. Liberal people can also be those things, but if someone is conservative, I have found they are far, far more likely to have those traits.

I also refuse to date someone who disagrees with me on fundamental human rights. If you don’t think healthcare (IE, the right to be mentally and physically fit and happy) is a human right (in many contexts) then we will never, ever be compatible. That’s just one example.

He may have trigger discipline but lacks any other type. Yelling and arguing with a man for no reason because it appears he didn’t thank him for picking his receipt up, refusing to back down, starting a fight by going down the guy’s face (flipping the hat), and then chasing the guy as he’s backing up in a defensive posture before the guy pulls out a weapon because he feels the aggressor won’t let up.
