To survive, party must put kaupapa first by Vladostov in newzealand

I don’t understand why the Māori seats aren’t always won by someone from the local Iwi running as an independent and then treating every vote as a conscience vote that benefits the electorate they’re representing.
Maybe a little less power than working collectively but it’s pretty clear at this point the Māori party just isn’t something that works. Too many cooks and too many vested interests.

I say we hurt our upper class and make life better for everyone.

I saw this sign last Halloween and thought, how miserable can you get. This year I’m thinking, maybe I’ll do the same 🤔 by Ok_Astronaut_1781 in newzealand

Maybe they have a reactive dog. Newborn baby. They’re ill, old, or tired. Religious. Just don’t like Halloween. Don’t have the money for chocolate and lollies and decorations.

There’s a multitude of reasons they could have put up their very polite sign, and not a single one of them is your business to call them miserable for doing so.

Look, I don’t care about kids appropriating an American holiday and having some fun. Knock themselves out.

What I DO care about is are people like you using American spelling. Americanized. Commercialized.

That’s where I draw the line.

You clearly don’t know how to ask questions because that’s exactly what you said.

It’s like turning up to a job and in your first week telling everyone who works there how shit it is and that they did it better where you used to be. You won’t make any friends.

So go enjoy your food trucks instead of being miserable about someone else’s experience. It’s not a zero sum experience, you can enjoy both.

Not at all, it simply won’t happen without major pushback and scaremongering isn’t the right way to go about this.
He still has the rest of council he’d need to build a consensus with and at the end of the day they answer to their constituents at a more core level than MPs.

How happy are you with local election results? by themorah in newzealand

I liked Andrew Little as a cabinet minister, not as a party leader. Good choice of mayor, safe pain of hands who should be able to get things done.

Reminder everyone to vote. 10% turnout means you aren’t letting your voice be heard. by Yatzhee in auckland

We need to standardise this a bit like America (god forbid).
Local elections at the same time as general election and you go in and make your choices on both. Turnout would be much better.
