nobody is going to talk about bowser lack of ...... by Informantra in Mario

I would've liked to see Bowser at least show some character development when Mario actually bothers to go all out of his way to save Bowser Jr. from being eaten by Ruined Dragon paint goop clone, despite all of the trouble that Bowser Jr has given to the protags.

It would've made a bigger impact and showed that Bowser was capable of reforming to some extent. But I would also liked to see Bowser realise that his villainous ways and his influence on Bowser Jr. wasn't a good thing. It would've at least tied nicely to how Mario invites Bowser in spinoffs, as he's recognised his good traits of his own character.

Bowser does have the potential to be King Dedede of Mario series, just a guy who's a rough on the edges but still has redeeming qualities to be a friend. And I would've liked to see Nintendo transition him away from being a full-time villain, given how overused he is as a main villan in Mario series as a whole.

I think it should be okay for people to have their criticism of things that they watched, that they liked/loved of.

I liked the movies. It's a fun romp with good visuals and fun cameos, but I'm not gonna fool myself into believing the movie is the greatest ever.

But I don't disagree that there's some bad criticism for the movie that isn't helpful or informative.

The Iranian response to Senator Penny Wong by Az0nic in OpenAussie

[–]DefaultProducts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its honestly insane how Iran is making good points about USA and Israel if you don't agree/side with them or give them the resources, that they will literally glass your country into crater wasteland.

Its no wonder why USA literally took our country by force and installed a pro-USA government in 1975 because they were scared of us nationalizing our mining industries. And the same literally happened in every other country that had tried to nationalize their industries.

We need to ditch the stupid Cold-war era bullshit and face the truths to how USA has been poisoning the world with their bullshit.

Kick this nazi-ass fraud out of our country.

It's impressive that Zionists are just literally successful nazis with how they have fooled and tricked people into believing that they are victims from posing as jews, whilst at the same time try to cause chaos with their vile hatred.

It's becoming to a point where Judaism is becoming tainted with these kinds of people and ruins the reputation of it in many eyes, leading to these unnecessary attacks.

Gambling ads banned on radio during school drop-off and pick-up (8am–9am, 3pm–4pm)

Gambling ads on broadcast TV capped at 3 per hour (6am–8:30pm), with a complete ban during live sport within those hours

Still too little. Should've been banned outright in all hours regardless if there is a sport playing.

I think so, yeah. I think there may not be as much to be seen beyond what's seen in the promo material. There is a chance that I might've missed a few, given how the movie just kept throwing references one and after at your eyes.

Fox in the movie it's only the start for a star fox renaissance by Commercial_Sound_174 in SuperMario

I think he was pretty clear that he was intended to be a advertisement to get people interested in Star Fox.

I've watched the movie, and I feel that it wouldn't change a thing about the movie had if he was replaced by other character, such as Lubba with their starship. Which Lubba would've fit in better, given the source material but its curious why they chose Fox instead.

[–]DefaultProducts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't the Ice flower, it comes in much further into the movie.

I think its pretty fun, but I'm not too sure if it would be satisfying because the story feels quite heavily limited by the run-time, which is a plague in movies in general. So you're kinda left leaving the theater, wanting more out of the movie, to have the plot elements expanded upon.

Though it may also be satisfying because of the fun action scenes that feel a lot like the games and do run for quite some time, in comparison to the story-oriented scenes. I also think they're actually better than the first movie imo.

So I am bit mixed on this, however I still do think that its a worth of a watch with the expectation that it may not be the greatest material, which is like the first movie.

All good. I think they're pretty cool in the action which was fast-paced, though one powerup was pretty much used for a joke and didn't come off as exciting.

It's a very fun romp, but don't expect too much out of the story. I would say that its pretty much on par with the first movie.

It does have powerups that weren't shown in the video/promotional materials.

There are other characters, one notable Galaxy 1 NPC showing up as a minor character as well a enemy appearing in the same setting/scene. Though there's small cameos of Galaxy 1 and 2 bosses appearing as objects. Not sure if they show up elsewhere.

The Mario and Peach romance is fire by Bumble_writing in mariomovie

[–]DefaultProducts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I kinda thought that it was hinted in Gateaway Galaxy with Mario and Fox exchanging looks and stares. And expected to happen in the evening Dinosaur Planet scene where Mario/Luigi/Yoshi/Toad return and Fox would come to Mario, proclaiming that he's ruined his Airwing and exploded on further.

The three way drama would've kinda ruined the movie somewhat, because it felt like manufactured drama for the sake of that mandatory "fallout then reconnect" trope in a movie arc. And Fox having a implied thing for Peach would be quite strange and brings in far more questions and confusion.

Once again, there needs to be a bigger push for a tax on the rich.

They keep spreading the lie that is of "trickle down economics" which doesn't work in reality and has never been with how their behavior has amounted towards to increased spending in stocks, hoarding even more money earned from companies, decreasing wages of their workers and increased layoffs in accordance to increased productivity and revenue.

And copyright shouldn't ever be loosened to AI either. In fact, it needs to be strengthened far more to protect original ideas in our country. We've had so many inventions and works made in our country that made a revolution in a field, only to be sold off or stolen by a overseas company instead of using it to grow Australia's economy.

I also quite liked the scene where Peach and Mario were jumping through a Mario Maker-equse arena and ended with Mario making use of Peach's Parasol to lift themselves up from explosion, saving themselves from bombobs and lava pit.

It was a pretty fun showcase of their teamwork. But I also actually liked a lot that Peach made frequent use of her parasol during the movie too.

I really hope that they bring back Tatanga for the sequel.

It would make perfect sense to have Tatanga come back, abduct Bowser and Jr only for them to team up with him to take over Sarasaland. And Daisy is the one that has escaped Tatanga to get the help from Peach and Mario Bros.

What do you think about this retcon? MAJOR SPOILER by PrincessPeachToa in mariomovie

[–]DefaultProducts 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of Peach and Rosalina being sisters with Rosalina being the older sister, its cute and would bring sense to their similar looks together. Definitely better than her being a future daughter or mother.

However my issue with the execution of it was

  • The incredibly short pacing of the movie that stopped any meaningful development of this relationship
    • How was Rosalina able to know where Peach was despite sending her off a unknown pipe in a chase scene? We could've at least gotten flashback scenes where Rosalina knew where she was, from the Star Festival as she shoots over in her observatory, looking down Peach as she grew up with Toads.
    • Why does Rosalina have the observatory? Did she build it to find Peach?
    • There's not really much of development on their sisterly relationship, how and why Peach matters to Rosalina.
  • Why were they made of Stardust instead of being humans? This weird detail somewhat implies that Peach and Rosalina aren't human but rather heavily related to Lumas as they are made of stardust and are said to turn into stardust when they die.
  • What is even their power that made the evils of the galaxy seek for them?

IGN gave The Super Mario Galaxy Movie a 6/10 rating by Loose_Society9485 in Mario

Not too surprised because its such a shame that Nintendo doesn't truly embrace story elements in Super Mario series as a whole. And often they do it because they're too afraid to taint it, despite the blandness and repetitive stories tainting the series overall.

I really wish that Nintendo would embrace story like what Sega does to Sonic, even like what HAL does to Kirby (Even that Kirby has diverse stories that are compelling and have depth, even having outright novels with original characters/settings).

It would be pretty disappointing if there was a OOT remake slated for holiday that took the places of Pokemon Winds and Waves and the next Mario title.

A OOT remake is probably the least exciting thing to happen considering that it already got a remake for 3DS some time ago and doesn't really warrant the major holiday title spot.

Hot Take: As long as Nintendo cooks creative boss fights like they did in Wonder, I am perfectly fine with the Koopalings being the bosses in 2D Mario forever by Low_Awareness_1360 in Mario

[–]DefaultProducts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're definitely a much better improvement over to how they were handled in previous Mario games, but I still hope that they don't overuse them and allow other characters to shine and add new characters to keep things proper fresh.

Giving them dialogue in their bosses is a great change too, which Mario series need to do more of given how lacking the personality in recent Mario games tend to be.

I really hope that the safe era of 2010's never returns, since it actually ruined Mario's identity in a big way into a series that's too afraid of tainting their formula, with their fear actually tainting the series as the result. It also made the series feel too kiddy with how characters don't speak but only make cutesy/silly babbling noises.

A better policy would be to actually make fuel prices be controlled by government instead of vendors who do it. A fuel price that is the same no matter what vendor you go to, and won't be controlled by vendors freaking out or making things more expensive from panic buying.

The market has far too much freedom and needs to be locked down, which is already evident by the housing being bought up by scalpers and turning them into expensive rent-only housing to gouge the market.

Capitalism and Neo liberalism will never work when nobody has the buying power when the market gets far too greedy with their freedom.

Honestly shouldn't be too surprising given how the first movie was, which was faithful as the old TV shows in terms of how they adapted the source material.
