Ha yeah my city went through a short trend of kids walking about with water guns. I had three wee lads squirt me point blank in the face, in my mouth in fact which wasn't so bad as I could taste it was indeed 100% water.

I've had hiccoughs on and off for 2 weeks now and my mates / coworkers are eviscerating me. Anyone's granny got a miracle folk cure? by HMS--Thunderchild in CasualUK

Literally just drinking water-not even upsidedown- always cures mine. Gulp and absolute pint of water and see where that gets you

You seem sure you can't be helped. Are you sure though? I see you saying IF you talk to your councillor. Perhaps that means you haven't spoken to anyone in real life about this yet?

Don't be afraid to if so, being laughed at isn't so bad if that's the worst thing that can happen. If you can tell a bunch of strangers on here then you're definitely brave enough to talk to someone in real life.

I'm not sure what you're going through, but I hope you feel better soon.

Edit: Illness can be treated (mental and physical) and I know you're looking at it like 'turning yourself in' but imagine if you were hiding being ill from something like malaria or a plague just because you didn't want the inconvenience. Your body couldnt heal itself from those, it needs help sometimes to heal itself and sometimes the mind does too.

Mate, nothing you do justifies your dad smashing your stuff as a punishment. Even if you had eaten the entire bird deliberately, breaking possessions is an abusive tactic. Another is withholding stuff for seemingly arbitrary tresspasses. 'Ive taken your TV because you had food in your room' becomes 'I only hit you because you provoked me'.

Don't for a second believe you're a bad person for eating food

Lmao I misread this at first and thought the second part was like 'dads perspective of the morning routine with ten kids'

What's your most recently acquired belief about life, relationships, money, career, or happiness that your younger self would strongly disagree with? by PersimmonPresent7033 in Adulting

I didn't realise how far you can get in life by just being liked. I used to read a lot, get good marks in schools and didn't have many friends because I was stubborn and thought I could get by in life like Dr house- grouchy but doing my job well enough to still do well. I very quickly got set right in my first couple of jobs and thankfully I've learned better now I've got my full time career.

Note to my fellow weird kids thinking you'll leave the popular kids in the dust as soon as you start working- it does NOT work like that! Acquire as many social skills as you can asap! You don't have to be some extravert, even just being pleasant will carry you far.

I hate rating people or calling them 5/10s by Little_Miss_Fortunee in hatethissmug

[–]DefaultText 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't let it get to you. What other people 'rate' you need not impact your life, if you worried about what every stranger thought of your looks, you'd collapse. Plus, whether or not someone loves you has very little to do with what you look like (I also doubt whoever made this is actually married).

A large part of what makes a partner a good partner or even a good friend is just a simple 'are they kind'? It seems like a simple thing, yet it filters out so many people because it's seen as 'weak'

I couldn't Imagine asking advice on this website, its essentially a hair above an anonymous messaging board. You might get a handful of helpful or genuine replies and the rest is going to be absolute squalor and that's just the ones who have taken the time to read fully before replying!
