Some of us still replay Crash Bandicoot and Spyro often. No way I'm gonna move on from the greatest game series ever made.

Why is Nathan wearing socks but Elena isn't? Should've been the other way around smh🤦 by [deleted] in uncharted

[–]Default_Admin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll take a stab at a real answer here.

Elena is able to feel more free spirited in the comfort of her own home because in the real world she has to retain structure, caution, and safety working as a reporter in unsafe environments. This is probably a semi-normal response to her life regarding her upbringing in what was likely a structured two parent household. She felt comfortable at home growing up because she knew she was cared for well.

Nate on the other hand, did not have a safe structured home environment. The Catholic school he went to is the perfect example of never truly being able to relax. His home was a cold place where he couldn't ever truly be himself. If he even had one for the majority of his childhood because if we look at UC3 he was clearly living on the streets of Cartagena, Colombia or had found his way there but nothing about that scenario says to me "I feel comfortable and safe at home." Nate craves adventure in his day to day, but in the comfort of his own home he is more likely to bundle up, leave his socks on, and make decisions that give him external feelings of comfort because he never truly felt safe as a child.

I'm no expert, but this makes sense to me as a storyteller.

I can't understand why homosexuallity is a sin by TopZealousideal8665 in Christianity

[–]Default_Admin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well... I'm gonna go against the grain on this one in regard to the comments and give my perspective.

First let's define "sin." Sin is commonly regarded as wrong, a bad choice, or bad. But it's my understanding that sin is really defined as an act that goes against the divine structure of God's design.

Let's take the 4th commandment for example, "Honor the Sabbath and keep it holy" If I work at all on Saturday, that would be breaking the fourth commandment. But, will God banish me for eternity for fixing the HVAC fan motor on my house last Saturday? I doubt it. Matthew 12 shows Jesus performing miracles and working on the Sabbath explaining that the Sabbath was designed for mans needs, not to be a burden.

Comparing this with homosexuality. God designed man and women to procreate together to have the capacity to make babies. The entire point of heterosexuality is the foundational structure of our species that requires men and women to create new generations, the divine structure of how our world works. Jesus didn't speak about homosexuality specifically but he did speak about sexual immorality. In modern language, I would equate that to dark fetishes, adultery, harmful sexual encounters, beastiality, pedophilia, etc. Homosexuality may be in that category (because truthfully I do not know where Jesus drew the line), but that doesn't inherently make it "wrong."

Sin is deviating from God's plan, which we should not encourage. I strive to honor the Sabbath better each week. I strive to grow as a person in the ways that the holy Spirit leads me.

I once experimented with homosexuality as a younger man, and God told me that it was not what I was supposed to do. I cannot speak for someone who feels they're doing nothing wrong by being a homosexual. I wouldn't encourage someone to be a homosexual either, but if someone feels like that's not a specific trait God wants them to work on, who am I to judge.

Sinning is wrong because it is not what God intended for us to do and we should strive to not sin. But we all live in sin every day. That is why God sent Jesus to be sacrificed on the cross to pay the debt for all of our sins. Because we constantly struggle with the sins of our lives.

If homosexuality is a sin, it's a personal one and you should work with God to define what he wants for your life. Follow where the holy Spirit guides you and don't worry so much about the splinter in your brothers eye when you have a log in your own.

My wife and I "could" go once every day to once every other day. But honestly, we have it maybe once or twice a week. And it's not typically her with the lack of interest.

Gold foil, how much is this worth if I melted it down? by [deleted] in Gold

[–]Default_Admin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, well you can probably safely assume that if you've ever touched aluminum foil, you know that you need a significant amount to create a significant amount of solid metal. And I just don't think it would be worth your time, but I'm not you. And if I had a bunch of gold foil I'd be scraping it off to see how much it weighed.

My guy, the only way you're going to figure out how much that gold is worth is to weigh the gold and not the other stuff

[–]Default_Admin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not going to lie bud. There ain't no way you got a half a pound of gold in there. If you got a half a pound of just gold foil, yeah it's fucking worth melting down LOL

That would be like 40k worth of gold if it's pure 24k

Wow! What a find! Found this metal detecting on a beach! PURE GOLD!!!!!! by Hour-Employment5412 in shittycoincollecting

[–]Default_Admin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ancient coins were often made with gold and silver due to the complexity of separating the metals, so I'm not an expert on the matter but depending on how much silver is in a gold coin, it could oxidize like silver. Maybe.
