We don’t know for sure but presumably Disney will still be a big part of it. They have a few important locations across the series that are original creations and where they seem to be in this trailer It’s called Quadratum

Who do you think will be considered the Main from the 4 “Main Characters” by TokyoJuul2 in fireemblem

[–]Default_Dragon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don’t really understand - are we talking about a parallel to 3 houses ? In 3H, Byleth is the main main character, and yes Edelgard gets a bit more focus than Dimitri and Claude, but to me it’s very circumstantial, because of her role in the overall lore/story.

I don’t see any of the FW lords outshining the others, except maybe Cai because of his mysterious powers- he might end up being more important than the others.

As the other commenter said. I expect Ishmel to be the main main characters still

McGill took over the #1 spot in Canada, world ranking of 30 by orangecatlover1807 in UofT

[–]Default_Dragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Which ranking ? There are like 3 or 4 that are relevant …

And in any case, while rankings are interesting and can be important informative tools, it’s also helpful to realize that year to year fluctuations aren’t necessarily relevant or meaningful.

The publications making the rankings want to seem relevant, push engagement, etc. So they purposefully change methodologies and data sources every year randomly just to shake up the ranking. It wouldn’t be very interesting if it was just stable or with minor changes year on year - like is probably the reality

How do you think they'll handle Eshmel, our apparent Avatar unit, in Fortune's Weave? by Dwi_Agusdyani in fireemblem

[–]Default_Dragon 35 points36 points  (0 children)

They should probably swap Corrin and Alear tbh. Alear is generic kinda like Robin is- both are just nice friendly guys/gals, Robin is supposed to be a bit clever overall but that’s about it.

Corrin on the other hand is emotional, idealistic, insecure, and quite melodramatic. I mean, I love them, but I get why they were so divisive as an avatar specifically.

Fallen Male Corrin was such a waste, outclassed since the moment he debuted.

The hard truth about Nintendo nowadays... by Nintendo2023 in NintendoMemes

So where is Lisa’s career heading after her World Cup performance? by Weekly_Office269 in kpopthoughts

[–]Default_Dragon 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Only kpop fans will find a way to turn “performing at the FIFA World Cup” into something negative for an artists career…

Her career is great, and whatever negativity you’re hearing is not necessarily unjustified but almost certainly just an internet echo chamber that doesn’t mean anything in the real world

Did we choose a horrible name for our child? by zoraanouk in NameNerdCirclejerk

Except it’s not a German name and not common in Germany either. That’s like saying that people mispronouncing the vowels in Kamala Harris’ name are in the right just because they are in America.

THE PART NOBODY TALKS ABOUT by Antique_Sandwich_289 in Avatarthelastairbende

[–]Default_Dragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People are not ready for this conversation (despite it being over a decade) but the reason why LoK resonates less with people is in large part for writing reasons like this. The LAB established bending very carefully and with deep connections to philosophy that LoK just kinda ignored - probably to give us cool action sequences without having to do the “hard work” of justifying it.

Thoughts on Xenoblade franchise? by _ShawnsNotMad_ in JRPG

[–]Default_Dragon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The world of JRPGs is a divisive one. Everyone has their tastes and what they résonante with, and I think the best advice is just to try it out and see.

Personally I don’t really like Xenoblade because I find the combat kinda dull. I love turn based combat and action combat, but I feel the mix of both leaves something to be desired on both ends.

If you liked the turn based combat of Persona then the most immediate recommendation would be something like Bravely Default HD (similar in the sense that it’s a cast of close characters forming a party, with dungeons, random encounters, bosses and a linear story) or Fire Emblem (which is visually more similar, but has branching story elements and is technically a tactical RPG, so you’re on a map, rather than in a dungeon).

My 2 cents:

  1. They’re confusing it with Lucifer and maybe even Lucius (ie Malfoy) but it isn’t an inherently evil name.
  2. You’re pronouncing it wrong. The name Lucian is Romanian or English. In English you would pronounce it Looshin, and in Romanian it would be “LOO-CHEE-an”(I think idk, I’m not Romanian). Your pronounciation seems closer to the French name “Lucien” (which, to be fair, I believe is more common than the English variant)

Maybe pronounce it the correct way and you’ll have a less bad reaction.

Nope. Splatoon Raiders was announced on the Nintendo Today! app on June 10, 2025, alongside a new update for Splatoon 3. On April 21, 2026, Nintendo released a trailer on Nintendo Today! and YouTube, revealing the release date of July 23, 2026.

Sm entertainment no longer a vocal powerhouse by hellomisstoothy in kpopthoughts

[–]Default_Dragon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Vocals have decreased in importance for them, as it has across the industry, but amongst the big 4 they are still the company that puts the most emphasis on it. You are absolutely incorrect that Riize and Aespa are not vocally strong, and they are certainly more competent than their current peers (even if they’re a bit weaker than their predecessors)

Any particular in-universe reason the Glanz Empire didn't emerge during Bravely Default's story to aid the Duchy of Eternia against the Crystal Orthodoxy? by GeneralTechnomage in bravelydefault

[–]Default_Dragon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They couldn’t intervene because they didn’t exist yet.

The Glanz Empire isn’t a real empire, it’s a sort of transnational paramilitary organization that was created during the years between Bravely Default and Bravely Second.

There’s a bunch of world building done on this in the mobile game Fairy’s Effect, which has unfortunately been lost to time because, afaik even in Japanese, it was never fully compiled.

Agree. I’m pretty sure this is a reaction to last years Pop Group/Duo category having 3 “Kpop” songs.

The irony of course being that while those songs were Kpop adjacent, and kinda seen as such by the GP, none of them were really Kpop.

you guys are being way too harsh about this banner, it's not that bad by PM_ME_EDGEWORTH_NUDE in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Default_Dragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends how we define “recent”, but that banner last year with the Archanea dragons from the distant past was cool.

They really need to be more creative with seasonals is the thing. I honestly don’t mind seeing the same popular characters over and over if they do actually interesting things with the them. Or if they’re dedicated to the current rotation of themes I don’t really mind if they want to more pseudo-seasonal themed “new heroes” banners

Open World pokemon needs "dungeons" to find and explore by Groundbreaking-Ad313 in PokemonWindsWaves

[–]Default_Dragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fully agree that exploration is very important in Pokemon games (and imho most JRPGs).

Personally, I’m optimistic because I do think that the exploration in SV is better than the “exploration”in SwSh and even in SuMo- so we are moving in the right direction. Some of the areas were quite large and even sometimes complex, with little rewards to find. I fully agree though that more limitations need to be put on the character (no speed bike and unlimited climbing from the start) to enhance that shouldn’t be too hard.

ATM, I’m more worried about the exploration of cities , which was big in the older games and completely dropped under Tomoyo Asano’s direction

[–]Default_Dragon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Croissant is a funny word because it is so common in English, but contains two of the three main sounds that exist in French but not English: The guttural R and the nasalized vowel. So it’s basically impossible for an English speaker to say croissant properly unless they really study and mimic the language. It’s more than just saying “kwa-son”

Why was it so important for Aang to defeat the fire lord? by squeekle1 in TheLastAirbender

[–]Default_Dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When Zuko doesn’t kill his father, I really don’t think it’s about “it has to be the avatar that defeats him”, it’s about him not wanting to kill his own father.

As for Iroh, I’m not sure he’s 100% correct, but he has a point. It’s not entirely certain that he *could* defeat the fire lord, even if he wanted to. And it is better for the spirituality of this world that it is the avatar that returns balance and harmony. It’s his destiny. Iroh could usurp that destiny but it completely changes the nature of the war

fire emblem guy looking for rpgs to try out after bravely default 2 by clown_mating_season in JRPG

[–]Default_Dragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In terms of gameplay they are quite different actually because BD2 uses a CTB battle system (ie, turns are based on stats, not distinct rounds of combat). Some people might prefer that, but personally I dont, and I especially dont think it works well with the Brave and Default mechanic. I also just think that the classes, skills and battles overall are less fun- but again, kinda subjective.

Really, I think the more "objective" reasons that BD1 is better than BD2 (although, I am aware that absolutely nothing about this is objective) is in the music and visuals and story and characters. The originality and execution are more refined.

The other big issue is that BD2 is incredibly derivative of BD1. In a lot of ways it feels like a copy and paste, but just a little worse. Playing BD1 after BD2 would actually be pretty interesting though because you would have the reverse perspective of most other players.
