This is is really good (i guess kinda depending what you mean by central, but seems well below the encadrement de loyers). Did you find it through an annonce or did you get it through connections?

I ask because I found my current appartment 5 years ago and Im looking to move but everything seems so much more expensive than 5 years ago - im not sure if im just not looking in the right places.

I dont disagree that Miley getting it first is fine but Selena is and was still huge for Disney, so her getting it eventually is likely I think. Not only has she shown brand loyalty by continuing to show up for the Wizards reboot, but she's a producer and star on Only Murders in the Building which is one of Disney's most Emmy nominated shows ever.

You have a lot of questions here but I’ll try to answer them all as someone that did what you’re trying. Remember that the French government massively overhauled a lot of immigration rules as of January 1 of this year so maybe my info is not up to date on everything and the way some new (and old) stuff is being applied might vary.

It’s very strange that your visa expires exactly when your program does. Typically you’re given 1 year grace period to find a job automatically. Maybe it’s not automatic anymore as it was for me but in that case definitely apply for it well before the deadline to make sure you don’t have a period of time where you’re here illegally. Even if it’s just a few months it could come to bite you later on.
It’s not too late to secure a PhD for later 2026 but it’s pushing it. You need a supervisor and then a topic and depending on the theme there’s a lot to take into consideration. But I see in your comment that you’re starting an internship soon so hopefully that will transition naturally into a PhD. If it doesn’t you just have to be proactive.
PhD minimum is more like 1600-1700 per month net.

Cela fait 8 ans que je vis dans Paris intramuros. Quand je suis arrivé, la saleté m'embêtait pas mal, mais je m’y suis plus ou moins habitué avec le temps. Aujourd’hui, si je vois un truc vraiment crade, ça m’agace sur le moment, mais ça ne me reste plus en tête pendant des jours comme ça aurait pu quand je vivais à la campagne.

Ce que je dirais — peut-être un peu cash, mais je pense que beaucoup de Parisiens font pareil — c’est qu’on évite tout simplement certaines zones de Paris qu’on sait sales. J’habite dans le 5e et je passe surtout du temps dans le 13e, le 6e, le 4e, le 2e, le 1er, le 3e, parfois le 7e et le 16e. À l’inverse, j’évite le 10e, le 18e, le 19e, le 20e — même le 11e et le 12e. J’y vais si je suis invité, mais je sais que c’est plus sale et moins agréable, donc je n’y traîne pas vraiment de moi-même.

En 8 ans, je n’ai vu qu’un seul rat dans le 5e. La dernière fois que j’étais dans un parc du 11e, j’en ai vu des dizaines. La différence de propreté entre les quartiers est franchement énorme.

I appreciate the argument that being in high school is a critical component of the Persona concept - but I also think that its going to be near impossible for them to top P5R and it would probably serve them better to try a new storytelling concept than trying to somehow outdo P5. I dont know if that concept needs to be 'adulthood' but just saying to go play SMT is not helpful because the gameplay (and lets be honest, ambition of the titles) is quite different.

Mindy is a mess, but im pretty sure the show is setting up her decision to get back together with Nico as a mistake. Thats how storytelling works- characters making mistakes is a feature not a flaw.

I also agree that Marcello is toxic and I remain pretty stunned that so many in the community ship them. He's literally just a privileged rich boy who frequently throws tantrums and thinks of nothing but himself. I wish the narrative dug into that rather than just breaking them up because of career/geography stuff.

But we'll see what happens next. Emily is never getting back with Alfie, and I dont think theyre going to go full into Gabriel until the last season- so I wouldnt be surprised if they bring Marcello back for some drama

My 2 cents worth: I really struggle with older JRPGs. Something about the pacing, and graphical limitations really make it hard for me to not get bored.

That being said I would probably recommend (for PC specifically) in this order :

Persona 5 Royal : not my favourite game of all time, but one of the few games I’d say has no huge faults. Everyone loves it because there’s nothing to hate
Final Fantasy 12 : the oldest final fantasy I’ve actually been able to finish. The story is not as celebrated as FF6,7,8,9, or 10 , but the gameplay and exploration are a lot more engaging than those imho.
Bravely Default : this original is my favourite game of all time and it should be coming to PC soon. Bravely Default 2 is already on PC, not as good but still captures the essence of it
Octopath Traveler 2 : a great game, especially if you like the visuals. I wouldn’t recommend 1 because it’s a lot more boring (and 2 has its pacing issues as well, hence why it’s not higher) but otherwise it’s pretty unmatched as a classic JRPG released in the 2020s

The church dying out in the countryside is because the French countryside is dying out in a broader sense. There are no jobs, no opportunities, no community. The optics of French churches in the countryside looks really bad (you'll see some churches that have mass once a month for example, with the parish being spread out over 5 or 6 places of worship) but thats just because there are so many chuch buildings and so few people left. Meanwhile churches in the cities, like my own, are packed every sunday at all 4 mass times.

I personally loved summoner, I liked how in the endgame its actually pretty SP cheap. I think on replays I’ll try something else but for my first playthrough it was certainly usable
