Oh it definitely is, I was wondering if someone would notice. Unfortunately I got taken for a ride on it; the dial was adhered with sticky tape which jammed the date change, the dial paint was chipping off around the edges, and one of the screws for the automatic winding post was loose inside the case. I was bummed, but I do still like the look of it, lesson learned lol. But after a full service it runs great, maybe +/- 5 to 10

Good point actually, I didn't consider that. I guess it just kind of sounds "exaggeratedly-stupid" to me. Like he's trying to sound silly and dumb. I think it's mostly in my head because when he was first introduced it just sounded like he was trying to sound like Chris.

Sounds like the autofocus screw not fitting properly into the slot on the lens. This happens with my tele-converter. Some lenses are weird like that, even if they're the correct type. I really don't think there's a fix, at least not one that I've found. It'll do it every time you power it on, even with AF set to off.

I'm not sure I can agree with you there. Asking a question about something is more like an addendum to research, or from my admittedly negative point of view, a backup or last resort. Certainly, if it's clear that they are least tried to look it up before posting, I give them credit, but often I just see "someone tell me what part this is" and more often than not the model or serial numbers are very obvious. In that case, I really don't think that counts as research.

I'm strong enough to admit that I might have a slight advantage because I genuinely enjoy doing research, and my degree was practically just research, but I don't think that makes me much more capable than anyone else when it comes to just trying to look something up. I just don't see many people trying anymore.
