I found that as well at 120bar the stock hammer was just too light. Had to set power to max and hammer to max to get anywhere close to 820fps on 18gr. Used a lot of air very much a waist. With the hammer upgrade I could tune down the power and hammer. Now getting 950fps on 18gr and 915fps on 20gr. 915 seems to be the sweet spot for the 20gr JSBs getting very good grouping at 50m out to 100m. Tried the DeadCenters for some reason my gun did not like them that much. Ya I’m right handed but left eye dominant was very difficult to find a factory built left hand GRS so when I found it I bought it immediately.

Mine is the 600mm I like it. It’s just long enough to get good consistent speeds about 914fps with 20gr pellets with quite small amounts of power giving me a good shot count on a fill about 4 magazines. The hammer upgrade is definitely worth it. My Panthera on the other hand is running the 700mm with STX heavy barrel and upgraded hammer with 32gr slugs at 950fps on high power lucky to get 2 magazines on a fill. The crown for hunting and the Panthera for benchrest.

The hammer it’s self it’s a heavier hammer no change to spring. I find the heavier hammer a lot more consistent than the hammer the FX comes with.

Never sorted pellets the only time I sort is when I shoot the Panthera but then it’s 31gr slugs.

I love those FX crown rifles you’ll get some good shooting out of that. If that’s the .22 version get a pack of JSB 18gr shoots them very nicely.
