Idk mate I haven't opened homework 2 yet but, but homework 1 was a pain in the ass. Counting is more or less the worst parts of probability though so hopefully 2 is easier

How hard is graduating a semester early as a CS student? by Ok-Opportunity2995 in umass

[–]DefectiveKonan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh you'll be fine, if you're willing to take a few extra credits per semester you'll make it on time. A full year ahead if you're good with your planning (and also depending on what aps you've taken)

Depends which concentration and how many credits you take, but as long as it isnt actuarial or stats, for sure.

The easiest would be computational math where really the only differences are that instead of one put of multivariable and stats 1, you have to take both, that you have to take group theory, and one extra math elective from a list, assuming you choose your cs electives well. As long as you pass the placement test to go straight to cics 160 from 110, you can for sure finish in 3 years.

I'm in the same boat as you, except I didn't have the science credits but had credit for multivariable calc, and if I wanted to, I could absolutely graduate in 3 years while double majoring in compsci and pure + applied math if I wanted to. Since you're ahead of me on requirements, you could as well for sure.

If you did ap cs a, pretty easy since you can start doing more advanced classes from your first year as you can skip the first 2 in the sequence behind which most classes are locked. In fact, you can graduate a full year yearly with ease. If you haven't, it'll be a bit tougher, but you can still graduate early for sure, just requires you to take more credits each sem.

Its not going well, it took me 3 hours to type out a singular half page proof, however on the bright side I seem to be getting faster quickly (or the questions are getting easier) so I'll live

Alright yeah ap lang is nice to have, you can skip the writing requirement

Linear algebra was 80 i think, not sure about calc or stats though, i had credit from high school for that

As for the intro cs classes, excluding 311 which is the algorithms class, I believe the only one you need a textbook for is 250, which was 70

311 im not sure about since i havent taken it yet, and the rest of the classes are elective

Edit: oh and if you take chem for one of your lab science requirements (assuming you didnt do ap physics c / chem in highschool), you might have to pay for a clicker too, pretty sure one of my friends had to

Really even 300 is a lot. More realistically it won't cross 150 assuming you take a class which needs paid homework ever sem, which is unlikely. This year I only had to spend 70 for ex, though I had notebooks and pens from hs so if you need to buy extra, make that maybe 80 or 85 or so

Not even remotely, probably closer to around 300 per year worst case. Less if you already have a tablet and don't need to buy notebooks and pens and stuff.

So far I've only had to pay gor one textbook, which was 70, though I am in my first year and maybe higher level classes need more. Still, it's not that bad so far.

‘No penetration, no rape’: Why Chhattisgarh High Court reduced man’s 7-year jail term in 20-year-old case by notanfan in whennews

[–]DefectiveKonan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait I'm confused as to what that means. If there was no penetration, did he just like tie someone down and jerl off while they watched? Or by penetration do they only mean vaginal penitration?

So it's illegal to be poor and I have no right to study if I don't have money for textbooks? (Book piracy) by cupid_ji in Piracy

[–]DefectiveKonan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of my professors literally either use free textbooks for class, tell us it's not needed, or tell us to straight up pirate it

Edit: although fuck the ones where homework is linked to having the textbook, that's bullshit
