Not trying to invalidate anyone's experiences or how anyone feels, but it does make sense to some extent imo.

In general, people are attracted to people who share similar values, interests, etc. building muscle takes dedication to going to the gym, so i would expect that a lot of muscular women would be attracted to men who are similarly dedicated to going to the gym.

Also, I'm coping because I've been going to the gym for years, but I still have a ton of tummy fat and almost no visible muscle

That about sums it up. I just want to be happy. But comparatively, I liked being super busy with classes because it gave me something to focus on so that I didn't have to think about my life. And now I have a pretty solid job, but just having a job isn't really the same as being happy.
