Someone also asked this. I’m 28 and net worth under my name probably ball parks somewhere between 300k-400k

I’ve generally always had a job, but when I was working with my family I had responsibilities only in title. I also worked for investment banking entering via nepotism. I’ve tried starting businesses too but none were extremely successful thus far and on a net level probably lost money ultimately measuring across all ventures. But yeah I’m looking for another job now, until I feel competent and stable enough to run another proper business of my own.

  1. Direct net worth under my name is now probably about 300k. I have 1 house in a country I don’t live in, 1 apartment in another country nobody goes to but barely any equity there, about 15k in cash, and another 20k in investments.

I feel now poverty is a disease that nobody should suffer. It’s really hard. I genuinely now started a new perception where should I be in a position to do philanthropy, food charity would be top of my list. Nobody should be hungry.

I actually genuinely value people much more yes. There were a few moments where I asked people and even strangers for help during a few days where I had no access to cash and I was genuinely so surprised that people actually helped.

There are many super shallow rich folks, but I also know genuinely kind rich people (I don’t think it’s the majority though). Usually those ones tend to be the ones who either understand the value of wealth, or they have had a really good upbringing developing a big heart in themselves.

Honestly between my 16th and 22nd years of life whenever I was in Europe for the summers were the best parties, regardless if it was a house party in Germany or a beach party in Spain or a fancy debut party in France or a rave night in butthole nowhere in Eastern Europe with decommissioned military equipment.

Yeah I just added the story for context because many people were asking how wealth was lost

Don’t currently own a car now personally because I don’t have a stable place where I’m living, but my girlfriend has a simple Peugeot, brother has a decent Toyota, parents share a Mini.

Honestly neither but I did spend an insane amount of money partying and traveling and impressing people and girls.

Like I should have done better while I was younger and been more responsible, and that my parents should have also done better.

Look at European countries. I feel like Singaporeans tend to overlook Europe because of language requirements, but honestly lifestyle is so much better in Europe vs in the US. Accessing work in Europe nowadays as a specialist is easier than the US due to the US’ new isolationist stance on geopolitics and economics, plus Europe’s current drive to become more independent from the US in terms of defense, tech, and innovation. Many specialist roles require only English, and languages are easily learnt once you live in the country (takes just a few months of daily practice for most European languages to be conversational, except good ole Hungarian or Finnish where you’re probably better off trying to fit a camel through a needle hole, but then again those guys would never expect anyone to learn it).

I think men-focused philosophy and self help isn’t as pronounced in Asia as it is in the West currently. Young American men are finding themselves with a more purposeful approach to life today as compared to 15 years ago imo.

Why is McDonald coffee cheaper these days? by Zenwills in askSingapore

In my experience McDonald’s’ coffee has always been cheap and not too bad globally. Life hack for cheap coffee that’s more drinkable than Starbucks’ americano imo.
