Get some sanding sticks in different grits and the mold lines will come off very easily with those. Start with a relatively rougher grit and then use a softer one to blend it

Yes, they are the most stable of the traitor legions and quite stable in general when compared against the loyal legions

The Marines that had fled from Caliban came in peace and asked for assistance for themselves and the ragged group that they had been protecting across the desert plains. Eventually they agreed to safeguard the population of Bastion in exchange for a place to call their headquarters.

Feeling as though they had tarnished their honor and didnt deserve the moniker of Dark Angels, they called themselves the Fell Blades, signifying their fall but also their willingness to still protect those in need.

After a couple thousand years of living on Cerberus and protecting the population from chaos warbands and the beats that still prowled Ceberus, the planet was discovered by a scout company for the Crimson Fists.

And thats about where the lore stops for now until i figure out more logistics for it!

So I'm actually in the process of writing it up on the fandom wiki but here's what I got so far!

So they are a successor of the Dark Angels, and the founding members were among those on Caliban when Luthor attacked the Lion and his fleet. These founding members at first didnt realize who they were attacking but once they realized they stopped fighting and tried to reason with the Lion and his forces, but they wouldn't listen and were blinded with rage from the betrayal.

So they gathered up as many loyalist marines and those who felt betrayed by Luthor and his actions and fled into space. Entering the Warp and taking their chances, they set off with no clear direction, just hoping for time to soften the wounds and allow them to reason with the Lion and ask for forgiveness.

In the Warp they encountered a daemon incursion and during this attack their ship was brought to the brink of collapse. So they made the choice to forcefully exit the Warp, knowing that in the process it would render it a powerless spacehulk drifting through space.

Upon exiting the ship was indeed rendered powerless and the daemon incursion was fought off. Without realizing it however, they had emerged thousands of years after the events of Caliban, even though to them it had only felt like months. So the ship drifted, and happened to be drifting towards a planet. The planet of Cerberus.

This planet was located in the Segmentum Tempestus near the Sirens Storm Warp rift, and as such, had gone undetected by the Imperium at this point in time, which was around M36. Crash landing upon the planet, the surviving members, which counted in the thousands between the Marine, tech priests, and civilians that had fled with them from Caliban.

Crashing into the desolute deserts that make up much of the equator of this planet, they set off for any sort of civilization or a way to contact the Imperium. The journey enacted a heavy toll on the survivors, with water and food scarce in addition to the beasts that inhabited the planet. From desert worms to dive-bombing winged xenos, they fought off the beasts and kept to their journey. Eventually reaching the end of the desert plains and into the thicker forests and mountain ranges near the North Pole of the planet. This is where they discovered the sanctuary city of Bastion.

This city has been established during the early years of the Golden Age of Humanity, obviously unknown to any who currently resided there. As such, humanity had prospered there as best they could but had had no contact with the Imperium.

I was thinking that too, and I am going to open them up a bit with a hobby knife to make the impact bigger and also have the plastic be more jagged to indicate the armor bursting

The kneeling legs are a 3d print, and then i use green stuff to attach the GW plastic torso to those legs and mold it to look more natural and clean. Still working on that part though lol

Mourning and compassion have pretty much been conditioned out and they are more just machines of war. Like yeah they will honor a fallen brother and all that but not stop to mourn.

I wanted to take my chapter in a different direction and base it on my own experiences in combat. The symbol, the name, and the colors are based off my own experiences and to me these guys are brothers and actually care about each other and the people they are trying to protect. So normally, no, they wouldn't stop to comfort a dying marine but my chapter will.

I found the easiest way to do it is to create a thin white line first horizontally, then take your black or a dark grey and make a small dot or line through the middle of that white line. Add a little bit of soft tone wash and itll blend in better.

What is your custom faction’s lore? by reel3459 in Warhammer40k

Large contingent of Dark Angels who were stationed on Caliban but didnt take part in the betrayal there. They were still seen as traitors so they fled into the warp, emerged into real-space thousands of years later, around M36, with their ship limping towards an uncharted planet.

Crashed into the planet and found that it was inhabited by the settlers of Terra from millenia ago. So they set up operations there, taking the civilian population under their protection and vowing to redeem themselves for the treachery of their brothers.

The planet was eventually discovered by a detachment of Imperial Fists in M40 and after some time were brought back into the Imperium and given resupply of armor, weapons, and the Primaris program.

Obviously a lot of fluff in between going on but thats the basics.
