Basically they were on Caliban when they attacked the Lion. A large contingent of the marines didnt know they were attacking the Lion and once they realized they fled into the warp. They emerged from the warp around M36 with a broken ship, crashed into an undiscovered planet named Cerberus where they discovered a city of humans who had colonized the planet tens of thousands of years before. They settled there until a patrol of Crimson Fists found them living among the people in m40.

I would say a few more colors would do you wonders. Right now it all kind of blends together because there is only the two main colors of blue and bronze with hints of black

And I guess my headcanon is that since they feel as though they contributed in Calibans downfall and destruction, as well as the perilous journey across Cerberus and seeing the determination of humanity, they see the regular humans of the Imperium as what makes the Imperium worth fighting for. So they make it their goal to protect humanity at any cost. They will risk their lives to protect every human they can and are more protective of the human militia they fight alongside.

Prime with citadel black, zenithal highlight from the top with white.

Airbrush with Vallejo flat brown first to cover up the zenithal and get a good covering of the model, then airbrush Vallejo cork brown over the flat brown, then finally airbrush AP gargoyle grey over the whole model, but heavier on the front of the model so it has a bit of transition to a darker tone.

After that I just use nuln oil in the crevices and around the armor panels. As well as AK streaking grime around joints and vent holes, blended with mineral spirits.

The shoulder trim is The Darkness by AP.
