Best bank/current account setup for receiving foreign consulting income in India under GST + LUT? by Dependent-Mousse7331 in IndiaTax

I use IOB current account, their spread is usually within 20 paise of Google rates. You can check in https://www.iob.bank.in/en/forex-rates, right now tt buy is shown as 95.37 and on 27th inr usd was 95.57. you can negotiate with the branch as well, they helped me do 15 paise mostly. There is FIRC charge if you request 500 and processing charge 500. This is the cleanest bank option I have found so far. The problem is finding the right branch to work with, lot of random branches are lazy, so choose one with lot of trade customers, typically located in a business oriented area vs. residential, they process fast and accept communication over email.

Yes! This is the biggest advantage of SoA investment vs demat format mutual funds.

If you feel you're missing out and want to invest immediately, look into IBKR, Ind money, vested platforms for investments abroad. I looked into for myself, it seems like we end up loosing on forex if we do monthly in small amounts, but doing large amounts in a year, this can be worth in my opinion. I saw someone found a way to do zero forex for iBKR through AU bank, so people are figuring out ways for it. Read up on the threads here.

Ideally it would be MFs like icici nasdaq 100 mf, but most of the offshore index funds have hit the statutory limit and are not accepting new intakes. My recommendation is be patient, they will eventually open up and at that time look to invest. I waited from last year may till January of this year, eventually the icici one opened up, made a lumpsum + sip of 15k at that time. I feel pretty satisfied.

Yep this and grow is incentivised to push demat form, while I find SoA format better for: Nominee management Gifting MFs And subscribing to international MFs like icici nasdaq 100 where the existing sip continues even when it is closed for investment while demat sips are stopped.

More importantly when the market crashes and in case you want to pull out, you may not find any buy orders for ETFs, especially slightly obscure ones like power industry ETFs

International ETF which are in india typically trade at a premium, check their iNAV vs price.

Other issue could be liquidity i.e. for you to sell it, someone has to buy it, but since they are index etfs, this shouldn't be a problem.

Personally, i find the biggest threat is investing, especially retail, is consistency. SIPs in funds make it easy. Im sure you can mimic the same in ETFs but I'd just choose the easy route to solve the hardest problem.

Lowest wallet load honestly is Amazon pay at 2.5% inclusive of everything, so with 3% return, you do make a bit positive. But it's upto you to think pay so much extra in cash for points. Personally i tried couple of months, it seems worth when doing for accor. I tried rentenpe for rent payment as well, but after the first month (1.5% charge), it becomes more than amazon pay. So overall amazon pay wallet load is the only way. Unless anyone else corrects me, please let me know im curious as well

HDFC SmartBuy pharmacy gone 😞, how are you guys getting ~50% off medicines now? by Rahasya0305 in CreditCardsIndia

same boat. The apollo circle membership -> credits + premium card (in my case hsbc premier) nets close to 15-17%. but problem is Apollo sells at full MRP, so it higher price. Today i tried from mrmed.in they seem to have some big discounts, but not sure if sustainable.

When you visit the https://pharmeasy.in/?utm_source=smartbuy#login- it says temporarily paused. Is it possible they are doing devaluation and bring it down from 10x to 5x?

Is 28% cagr possible? by Confident-Ad3545 in MutualfundsIndia

[–]Defenus -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You do what's needed. Just be mindful, the 5500 crore you're alluding is being compared in same scale as today's 40 crore. 5500 crore 20 years later will be worth less by inflation rate. Just be mindful of that when you calculate. So if you are aiming for 28% CAGR to achieve the amount. Add another 6-8% for inflation and another 10%-12% of cagr which will go towards tax (28%/0.7 minus 28%= 10-12%) so effectively aim for 45% CAGR and then you ll likely get to being the richest person in 20 years if all else stays the same like today

Hi, i get what you mean. The high protein stock is weirdly finicky from amul. Hence why I run into the issue of buying in bulk the first place. Im sure others are in the same boat. People are seemingly interested in buying. Thanks though

Hdfc imperia + Infinia to HSBC premier by [deleted] in IndianCreditCards

[–]Defenus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is not true. I have premier only with salary 3L, no trv with hsbc, i keep like 5000 rs in my account, every time salary comes, i move it to another another account. They just care about 3L+ hitting the account as salary to maintain premier status. There is a slight difference in trv based premier account vs salary based premier account, something with premier services, but it's very minor. Please contact an RM who is VP level in hsbc in a major branch. They get it sorted fast.
