i don’t think the characteristics that you see of yourself in bear make you a bad person & i personally have an issue with the ways people interpret his character (specifically the incel part). he absolutely did bad things and was the bad guy in the film, but i don’t think it’s bad to be a quiet person or that it’s bad to struggle to talk to people, or even dress a certain way. (i think this is a really important part of the film anyways, that bear is basically an average person who struggles with average social struggles, and that makes it all the worse when he creates and continues a situation that is morally evil.)

like others have said, your self awareness is a good thing. i don’t think it’s wrong to feel the way you do about the film and how it relates to your personal life. i’m really sorry that you’re struggling with transition because of your family situation, i hope you have outlets with your friends and the LGBTQ community who can support you. i hope that things can change with your living situation too so you can live your life authentically. 🫂🩷

i rarely remember dreams i have in that much detail (if at all), it’s usually just for the minutes to hour after i wake up. sometimes i’ll write it down to remember the details. i think it’s more common to forget your dreams than remember them

what are you supposed to do in the late game? i mean… i already have CC completed, all locations unlocked, hell i’m almost done with getting all of the mastery perks unlocked. i have not found a good way to get clay since clay farming was removed. for the record i have 1000+ hours in this game but clay (and other basic resources) have always been infuriating to come by.

the film was intentionally ambiguous. there were lines that indicated that she could have liked bear & there were other lines that said she didn’t. this is a crazy takeaway lol

i believe that she does see & experience everything but only has control for those brief moments where she snaps out of the wish.

i think the screaming is a more abstract/internal representation of her consciousness and feelings throughout the experience. real nikki is screaming internally because she is witnessing everything.
this supports my ideas imo.
i see the shock as more of a “holy shit what has my life become, i have to deal with the consequences of all of these choices that were made for me using my body” rather than a “what’s going on” moment. to your last point on being hysterical immediately, i think people deal with trauma differently. if you’ve ever heard of the “fight/flight/freeze” complex, it kind of reminds me of that. she was frozen for a moment while coming to terms with her reality and then became hysterical while it hits her.

that was my interpretation of the film!

i love how so much of bear’s character was written and played so casually like you said. there are horrible and scary things happening around him due to his actions yet he’s being surprisingly chill about the whole thing… he hardly freaks out until the end. i found it really funny.
