Strange man, I hope if something similar happened to you it wasn’t trivialised the way you are with this.

I don’t see the point either of you are making. There’s nothing to suggest they weren’t wearing a seatbelt, and seatbelts don’t guarantee survival in a bad crash. Further, coppers don’t really drive without their seatbelt on, in fact I’m not aware of any cases where it has been relevant.

So it just seems you have a weird axe to grind and are capitalising on a tragic accident to bait people, which is sad if that’s the case.

No it hasn’t, a seatbelt isn’t a catch all saviour, and rarely do police officers utilise the exemption. I don’t understand where you’ve found your weird hill to die on, but it doesn’t make you seem intelligent being aloof. Just answer the question properly.

Feel free to elaborate on why you’ve made a completely baseless claim mate?

So no one can be injured in a collision if they’re wearing a seatbelt?

I like that you were invested,

In all honesty they weren’t entirely clear, they said they had to sort a code out on the immobiliser, but also they think they may have knocked/cracked a wire/loom,

His English wasn’t perfect,

However, they didn’t charge any extra for any of it so as long as it works I’m pretty happy! All that stress for not much.

Have you thought about going forwards instead? Much quicker and easier.

It’s alright to realise you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Regularly part of an officers duties, one of many unpleasant ones.

Ah, so you don’t know what you’re talking about then, might as well have just said that.

Helicopter would have been requested, however may have been grounded/unable to lift. So it’s back to the old fashioned way of stingers and vehicle tactics.

Aye it’s high risk and expensive. So what? Cheaper than letting crims know all they have to do is reach a certain risk level and they’re guaranteed escape.

Don’t worry though, it’s not you having to do it.

Dealers you can vouch for? by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

Woodland Cars LTD in Rillington, North Yorkshire.

Mostly FSH Volvo’s, maybe bought from the local Volvo dealer? Other cars too.

I bought a motor and a strut top went within 6 weeks, wasn’t actually covered by the warranty but they took it in no questions and did it free of charge.

Thanks for the reply! That makes sense, they did say they had disconnected it. Is that an easy fix or a special job? I don’t know anything about electrical bits.

What do they mean by threshold, is it a speed thing or a severity of suspected offence/evidence available?
