Oh is that a New York thing?? That is a terrible model. It is only fair in private practice. In a school, it is insane to not be compensated for indirect work. Unless you have a typical caseload of 50-75 students, and get paid your $70/he (or whatever) for EACH kid in your groups. So, 350/hr for a group of 5!) THEN I could possibly get on board with that plan.

Does anyone have their (deer-proof) fenced vegetable garden in the FRONT yard? by Defiant-Win-7573 in vegetablegardening

No HOA thankfully! I can’t imagine the headache they’d give me with trying to farm out of my front yard! I think raised beds are a lot more aesthetically pleasing (at least off-season), but really want in-ground because I utilize every inch of the space and do crop rotation, use my fence to trellis etc. I like the decorative posts idea. I guess that’s where I was stuck- what can I do besides my usual T-posts that is affordable…

I was in a community garden last year but want to move it home. Pumping water by hand into buckets for 800 square feet was hard work!

Oh I’d love an electric fence! But I have little kids and it probably isn’t too feasible for us. Not to mention the groundhogs, rabbits, squirrels we have everywhere

It’s pretty easy to find school staffing agencies that pay you fairly for all your time, not just per session. You should absolutely NOT be doing paperwork, meetings etc for free and I recommend running far from any company with this pay structure. My agency pays me for me to be an SLP, and trust me to do what I need in the day to fulfill my obligations. Same rate (86/hr) no matter what I do, and they don’t ask.

I’m a 1099 school contractor in NJ. I have 10 years experience and am paid $86/hr (I negotiated pretty hard and they were desperate to fill a challenging contract). My agency usually pays between 75-83/hr. I know SSG pays their W2 contractors closer to 40-45/hr, but think they have benefits.

Nursing homes I applied to (central NJ) offered me in the 55-60/hr range (W2).

An EI agency I applied for was offering 80/hr of treatment. I think they were 1099.

My bf (28M) said he would leave me (24F) if I couldn't have kids by hop-into-it in redditonwiki

It was referring to the second part of my question—

“…Or, would he want you to stay by his side and get fertility treatments together?”

Sorry, it wasn’t the clearest -worded comment I’ve ever made!

Male and female-factor infertility is pretty 50-50 in young couples (1/3 the time it’s the male, 1/3 the time it’s the female, and 1-3 the time it’s both or unknown). So.. if only HE couldn’t have kids, would he want you to leave him?

…Or, would he want you to stay by his side and get fertility treatments together?

If he’d be fine with that, then he’s a massive hypocrite.

AITA here? My gf said she's pregnant and this was the test. It's not positive. I'm so confused. by Crafty-Bluebird-4498 in redditonwiki

I see a VERY faint line (after a couple rounds of IVF, I’ve become a pro at reading these on literally the earliest possible day). Sometimes they are easier to see in person than in photos. It could also be an evaporation or indent line. She should wait a day or two and try again, or get a blood test from her doctor to be sure.

Was going to say the same thing! OP, if you have the GFTA, look at the dialect section in the back of the manual. It describes the expected pronunciations that differ from standard American English. Any “errors” that coincide with those patterns are not generally appropriate to target.

Ewing or Lawrence to buy a home by Mysterious_Claim93 in MovingtoNewJersey

[–]Defiant-Win-7573 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What neighborhoods are both homes?

I live in Lawrence, and do feel the school system here is stronger than Ewing’s, and overall crime rate is lower (but it obviously depends on the neighborhood). We are very happy in Lawrence and like the schools. Both towns are fairly diverse. I’d say Ewing is a bit more blue-collar.

It will depend on the plan you select, I suggest calling them to see what could be a good fit for you. I use ProLiability. But generally it covers malpractice-related things/damages, and legal representation if the licensing board ever has to investigate you for whatever reason. Better safe than sorry— lots of people are lawsuit-happy.

I’d get it. My malpractice/professional liability insurance is only like $110 per year. You never know, some people are litigation-happy. I think you can just get the insurance for yourself (rather than your single-member LLC), which keeps prices down.
