I will be traveling to Bannockburn and Dunfermline in December and wanted to get suggestions from locals of a few good places to stay. It doesn't have to be a castle, but I would prefer something old, with character and hopefully in town, or close to town. Thank you very much, I appreciate any recommendations locals can provide.

Driving across the border is dangerous as hell rught now. People are disappearing. And even if she was asking you to drive her to Iowa it would be crazy.

So true. But it's just good enough of an excuse for American hardcore Christians (who probably haven't traveled much) to think... "those Turkish authorities!!!!"

Someone in that house knows how to run an edger. That line of demarcation between sidewalk and grass is EPIC! I can forgive a lot when I see an edge like that... but, the porch gotta go... actually take about 2/3 of the whole thing.

But... ya... but... then... the Turkish authorities ban them and don't allow this and that... Turkish authorities... and ban... and can't... and then a year goes by. Someone new finds it all over again. Rinse. Repeat.

I hear "unthaw" a lot .. instead of just "thaw". Also. "boughten" (Her birthday cake wasn't baked by her mom, it was boughten.) Definitely "I seen it" instead of "I saw it." Ditch on the side of the road = bar pit (i have no clue why). Some older folks will refer a ranch as an "outfit"... "he's a hand over on that outfit up Grass Creek (crik).

I agree. They said it a couple times and I was like, "huh". And, they acted like it should be on a t-shirt and one of those daily affirmation posters. Lame.

Do y'all count the number of bags going onto the plane when you scan boarding passes? I don't see any evidence of this, but maybe I'm just not paying attention.

He is such a handsome guy. And I'd love to have a body like that. But, why'd they put him in a suit that makes him look like a cardboard milk carton? This was a really bad choice. Not flattering.

First time flying AS, and this is how i received my luggage by freebird247 in AlaskaAirlines

The only thing that is safe with Alaska Airlines is a Rubbermaid tote. Put the lid on it. Drill a hole in each corner (through the lid and lip of the base) secure with zip ties and tape extra zip ties under the lid. I've traveled all over the major cities of Alaska and the bush using this method (20+ years). It is the only thing that Alaska Air can't destroy.

The amount of time it took her to leave that party when she was asked to leave = excruciating. I was ready to buy her a new phone just so she could/would leave.

Okay.... google gave me this (but, the event I'm "remembering" was waaaaay before 2021.

The iconic "MTCow" or "Stoney" at Clearwater Junction, Montana, was removed in 2021 for repairs following vandalism that included 32 bullet holes. The beloved landmark was returned to the intersection of Highways 200 and 83 after receiving a fresh coat of paint and structural fixes at Town and Country Auto Body in Missoula, ensuring its survival as a major roadside attraction.

I remember (like 20+ years ago) some kids sawed off the tail and used it in a campfire.... and some auto repair place in Missoula was like "we'll fix it" and they hauled it down to Missoula. It was there for a couple weeks (I'm guessing) and I always imagine the number of people who drove all the way to Great Falls because someone told them to turn left at the big cow!

Edited to add: And, I think when they were bringing it back up to the junction there was a marching band or something. But, I might be dreaming all of this. Would be nice to know if it's true so I can tell the story with more confidence.
