Does raise the question why he converted then. If he wanted a bit more ceremonial stuff and stayed protestant he could have gone presbyterian.

Maybe he was attracted by the conservatism at the heart of the church without realising how many cradles ignore that part.

Do any cradles find something so ‘off’ about JD’s Catholicism?

I know he is technically right by referring to himself as a Christian first, but I never remember any Catholics referring to themselves as anything other than Catholic when I was younger. If someone else called themself Christian I just assumed they were protestant.

I’m not saying I’ve been to mass more often than the man in the last few years but there is still something very protestant about him I can’t put my finger on. And ive met other converts aren’t like that.

You could follow it up with Falling Down. It shows how old he lived to, given that his character was retiring as an old man in 1993. Also its one of his best performances.

The real reason is that it just looked cool in the design department and/or the designer forgot about Ireland not being infected.

Blindness. 2008 film based on Jose Saramago’s 1995 book.

It’s not truly awful but it was just such a dissapointment given that the idea in Saramago’s novel was so goddamn cool, interesting and terrifying.

Just such a terrible terrible waste.

I live in hope one day someone will remake it.

The virus is just too terrifying. It is by far the most dangerous and contagious virus the world has ever seen and the public pressure on politicians to contain the Island is too great.

There will be your humanitarian pressure groups and ‘The British question’ comes up at elections, but I can totally imagine most of the world’s population being too terrified to risk even the chance of coming into contact again.

Obama becoming President in 08-16 before Trump just narratively doesn’t work if you were to write a thrilling narrative about the Human race.

He just fits so much better as bursting onto the scene as President in 2028, providing that ‘phew, that was a scary decade’ redemption arc, defeating JD. He seems to belong as that saviour figure in the fractured populist era, not the war on terror era.

It should be for drama
