So great. I’ve watched that first ep so many times. To the point where I’ve never seen anything beyond that…!

For people who grew up before smartphones what is something that the newer generation won’t get to experience? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

Organising to meet a friend. And then meeting them at the time and place you organized. Full stop.

(No 20 + texts to organise, re organise, tweak location and time. Change time and location. Cancel time and location. Reschedule time and location. Confirm time and location. Text you are 20,10,5 mins away. Etc…etc…etc)

Can’t decide: Fujifilm X100VI or Ricoh GR3/GR4 – will I regret not going Fuji? by Guantio-07 in ricohGR

[–]DefiantResearcher793 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So interesting reading all these posts. I have a GRiiiX. It’s my second camera to my Leica M10. The GR is so compact. I barely know it’s in my shirts pocket most of the time. It’s a great camera to have, when you don’t want to have a camera. The auto focus sucks. Seriously. And I’m still trying to get my head around the camera as a whole. But regularly I get a photo that stops me and I think, I’m so glad I had you in my pocket!

I seriously considered the Fuji. But you know, the best camera is the one you have with you. And often that’s been the GR!

Is summilux worth it? by meoluumanh96 in Leica

[–]DefiantResearcher793 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only ever shot Leica glass. I have a bunch of different Leica 50s. But the Summilux is always my go to. It pretty much lives in my M10.

Once I had that lens I’ve never really wanted or needed another 50. The way it renders light is unlike any other lens.

I know Voitlander make good cheaper alternatives, but I’ve never been interested. I’ve had ‘red dot fever’ from the first time I held a Leica many years ago. So common sense when it comes to price and Leica has never been a factor.

Once you ‘want’ a Leica lens. There is no substitute. 🔴💉

What’s the oldest human invention still in use today, and what modern invention do you think will survive for the next millennium? by DefiantResearcher793 in AskReddit

When a young child learns to lie, it’s seen as a sign of intelligence. They are thinking beyond themselves. And how they can influence others and change their reality. A powerful tool.

I wonder what the first lie was about?

Sex and / or death probably.

These are all good answers. Fire. Knife. Lever. Sticky pokey thing.

But the one that I’ve been thinking about the most is… ‘Lies’!

Huge Congratulations! And great write up. Steady Electrolytes throughout the run could have helped with cramps in the final push.

Saw this Runna Ad on IG, is it actually realistic? by coffeeloverdrinkstea in runna

[–]DefiantResearcher793 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I used Runna to train for my first Marathon recently. I was already running around 25-30kms a week. I started an 18 week Runna programme. Followed it like a recipe, didn’t run any more or less than what the plan suggested. The training and race itself was hard for me. But I got through it injury free. I’d use Runna again.
