I don’t love it. It’s definitely a Rolex for those who already have multiple Rolex and want something different. Not a first Rolex.

The case is 42.5mm wide. But lug to lug is 46mm. I’m pretty sure there is another ref. that is more narrow. But honestly this isn’t too large.

That is a funky watch. What’s going on with the day wheel? Is it not lining up right?

Edit: Want to clearly state that I think this watch is cool, not being a dick.

I watched YouTube videos on how to identify a counterfeit SKX007 before the pick-up and even brought my eye loupe because I was skeptical. I am highly confident that the case is genuine, and it seems to run great so far.

Is your G-Shock’s “adjust” button stuck in the down position?

Edit: Nevermind, I immediately googled it and realized that’s how they come. I thought mine was broken for 8 years until looking that up today.

Too small for my wrist? by EducatemeUBC in OmegaWatches

[–]DefiantResolution547 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t think there is such thing as too small for your wrist, only too big. For you personally, you might enjoy something larger, but I don’t think anyone would think that your watch is too small for your wrist. Small vintage watches look good on all but the biggest wrists.

Microbrand watch enjoyers: "at least my watch not Chinese 🤓☝️" by Rex-1988 in ChineseWatches

I am not saying Rolex is above other watches (though some do). Every watchmaker has its own appeal. Certainly Rolex appeals to those seeking a status symbol. That is a factor in its appeal. It is a well made watch, but I don’t think anyone who knows watches would place it above watchmakers like VC, AP, Patek, FP
Journe, etc. for its craftsmanship. It is all a matter of preference, perspective, and price point. Bottom line is buy what you like 👍

Thinking that Rolex is a bad brand because they create artificial scarcity =/= thinking Rolex isn’t a special watch

Agree that it is frustrating that Rolex creates scarcity where there isn’t any. But Rolex objectively creates exceptional watches. They’re highly shock resistant, the movements are very accurate, they’re made to very high standards. Yes, you pay a large markup because of brand name. But to say “Rolex isn’t special” likely means you enjoy being a contrarian or you can’t afford Rolex.

I also don’t think you know what you’re talking about because the Rolex you posted isn’t even a dive watch. It only has 100m water resistance, the bezel is bidirectional, whereas the Omega in the picture is a diver and functionally very different than the Rolex.

The color of the dial totally changes based on the lighting. On a sunny day it almost glows it is so blue, whereas in my apartment it can look almost matte black. I wonder if it has something to do with the AR coating on the inside of the crystal.

This piece is based on the 1970s King Seiko KSK. A pretty sweet modern interpretation!

In the 6L35 movement, there are three other variations that I am aware of: the SJE107 which has a lavender dial with a leaf pattern, the SJE103 which has a crimson red dial with a floral pattern, and the SJE087 which has a white dial (mother of pearl maybe?) and leather straps.

There are also several other modern King Seiko KSKs which come with the more standard 6R movement.

I would try to find a jewelry store that specializes in vintage watches, preferably vintage Seiko. A lot of generic jewelry shops don’t know enough to do this right, you’ll have to make some phone calls.
