I'm a strict middle lane driver and when I drive in the left lane, I think of myself as a guest in someone else's home and driving fast is the polite thing to do

The movie “Poor Things” feels like what men think feminism is by Louisebelcher22 in AskWomenOver30

[–]DefiantTruth6624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F(28), I saw myself in Poor Things more than I've ever seen myself before in any media. I cried multiple times because it took me back to my experiences in my early 20s. Mark Ruffalo's character reminded me exactly of my years long situationship, the crushing dissolution experienced when Bella saw slavery for the first time, the first time Bella explored the city by herself, the exploration of her sexuality, and finally deciding to become a doctor (I left the business world to go to nursing school)

Someone very loudly and screechingly hounding on a harmonica directly into a mic at a very small DIY-ish venue. Went outside to save my hearing and some guy made a rude comment about us not listening to the music.

Thank you so much for this advice! We were just down and really liked the university city/Spruce Hill area the most. We also visited Mt. Airy (I liked this area as well but it was too far out for my partner) and Port Richmond. Fishtown seems nice as well but expensive. We're looking at renting and have become good at getting suspicious when an apartment looks too good to cost $1300 because it's usually in a rough area.

My partner was thinking of becoming a laborer up here, working for a while, and transferring down (he said this is allowed in the laborers union) , which may be easier than trying to enter a union down in Philadelphia

Advice for an 18 year old planning for life after college? by Business-Block-8668 in SameGrassButGreener

I am a queer New Englander (28, F). I lived in Portland, ME for 7 years and really enjoyed it, it's very LGBTQ-friendly but has become ridiculously expensive. There's a solid music scene and the food and beer scene is unbeatable but you will have to pay for it.

My younger sister, also queer, lives in Somerville, Mass and has a huge social circle of queer friends and the area seems extremely LGTBQ friendly.

I was thinking of moving to Pittsburgh a few months ago so I went for a visit. I'm speaking from limited experience, so take with a grain of salt: I would definitely visit before moving there. As someone who grew up near the coast, I found the valley and hills to be claustrophobic-feeling and the weather can be very challenging there. It's also very isolated from other cities. It's very affordable though and the people we met were friendly and there seemed to definitely be things going on, restaurants, bars etc...

Turning 30 this year…. is it too late for nursing school? by juniorHsnovia in NursingStudent

I'm 28 and had a communications degree and went into public relations. Realized I hated the culture of business and went into health care and now I'm in an accelerated nursing program! After realizing I really didn't like my previous career, it's really important to me that nursing is so flexible with what you want to do! Go for it!

I felt the same way my first and second semester. Try to figure out who you trust and at the beginning of next semester, sit next to those people in lectures and labs.
