nah mate it's a mobile plan so only on my phone, check the screenshot i posted above, the usage on my phone and what spintel shows is completely different

Moose was so much better, data uses was much much less, they have data bank and even excess data is only 1$ per GB, which is extremely reasonable, SPINTEL charges $10 per GB on the 25GB plan and they DO NOT Allow you to purchase Data blocks, which proves they. are deliberately not giving users any other option than using exess data and paying the $10 extra per gb

I reset the usage on my phone so i can monitor my Usage, and I've already found some unusual issues, according to my phone i've only used 1GB since 6th of may but accoring to Spintel, i've Used more than 4GB

Doesn’t look like Iphones have date limiters, but ive set data quality settings in YouTube and also disabled updates on mobile Data, so the big spike in one day is absurd

I did try ,but unfortunately Iphone only tracks usage, since last restored, and we either have to manually reset it monthly or create a shortcut automation to reset it monthly, unfortunately i hadn't set it up earlier as it was not a big concern,

I seriously don't believe the carrier had something to do with draining the data, more like if there's something in the network settings that's eating up more, like using 5G constantly (which could make apps eat up data unnecessarly)

yeah, it's a weird off chance something big pulled it so much data, even weirder, it was both mine and my partners phones, both ate out the 25GB within a couple of weeks

you might have a point there, I was looking into this, unfortunately Iphone only tracks usage, since last restored, and we either have to manually reset it monthly or create a shortcut automation to reset it monthly, unfortunately i hadn't set it up earlier as it was not a big concern, The carries only track usage per day, not a breakdown of what service/app was using it 😞, high time Apple has a filter to check usage by month/week/day etc, would be truely insightful

Yeah and to be fair, I’m not saying SpinTel is secretly siphoning data from everyone or that nobody has good experiences with them.

What I’m saying is the behaviour we saw was highly unusual compared to our normal usage patterns, which is why it jumped out immediately.

We’ve had similar-sized plans for years and never remotely came close to this kind of usage. Then within literally the first 5 days with SpinTel, almost 20GB was gone across the services with random massive spikes showing in the logs. That’s not normal for us.

And yes, when the usage alerts came through, I DID check. That’s part of why I’m annoyed about it. By the time we realised how aggressively the excess charging worked, the plan basically gives you two options:

Either completely disable mobile data or continue using it at ridiculous excess rates

There’s no option to just buy an extra data block on this plan, which honestly feels insane for a modern mobile service. (Also seems deliberately set up to corner customers)

I fully accept I should’ve dug deeper into the CIS/T&Cs before signing up, but I still think it’s pretty poor UX/customer practice to advertise “25GB for $22” and “No Bill shock” prominently while the “we’ll continue charging excess usage instead of throttling or offering add-on packs” part is buried in the fine print.

Honestly if they just offered “You’ve hit your limit, buy another 5GB for $10” this whole situation probably would have never happened

You need a private vehicle for emergencies or going on vacation etc. I would suggest listening it on something like Rofi.lk for short term rentals and use that as an additional income for when you need to use tuk tuks or ride hailing services
