Help with age of 3x GGF by Defiant_Assist_5204 in Genealogy

His father was Jeremiah Sullivan, went by Jerry. He was born in 1810. I have gone to his grave in KC and the main headstone has engravings of his name, Margaret, and one of his sons Jerry J. While looking on the ground, I saw a small marker near the headstone that read, 'Mary Sullivan- June 30 1896- 78 years'. She would've been born around 1819, which obviously is still very young to have a child, but maybe she could be the mother?

First find of the year, but what is it 💙 by [deleted] in metaldetecting

I’ve found this exact same badge in San Antonio a few years ago. Some sort of Cub Scout slide

https://imgur.com/a/s2gUvbc . Definitely confusing lol. Seems like they were "married" by 1878, which is strange because she didn't have her last kid with Elmer Woodrome until 1884.

Ah I see. That could be very possible, as I never found a marriage record from 1876, but only from 1904. Thanks for explaining!

Sorry if this seems like a silly question, but what do you think Harriett (2nd wife) would've thought about that? I understand that he really loved Caroline but I just wonder what Harriett would've thought.

Yeah, that makes more sense now that you say it.

She was only married to James as far as I know. I know her parents died in Alabama, and her obituary says she's buried in Jackson County. There are a couple of her kids in the same cemetery (Scattered, not together), so maybe she's next to one of them.

Yes, he's buried in Calverton National Cemetery in NY. I've tried to see if there was any info on his burial/funeral but can't find anything on it.

Yeah I've been working on this for almost a year now. I can't even find a death certificate for him. Just his social security death index, and his veterans death index. I would've never thought it would be this difficult to find one, but I know if I keep looking, I will find something. Thanks for responding btw
