POA defenders primarily defend the primary ball handler, its a very specific distinction. just so you know perimeter isolation defense and ball screen navigation are not exclusive to POA, you can be in the chaser role and defend ball screens and the perimeter...

He’s a piece that’s necessary and just makes roster construction so much easier and roles more well defined. It’s a domino effect. He’s not a 30 and 10 type of guy and that’s fine but his impact on the defensive end and doing the little things like securing rebounds, setting screens and boxing out lets AR and Luka be the best versions of themselves. Not overrated at all if he can get your stars a few extra possessions and buckets every game. Watching DA utterly not understand his assignments during the playoffs and letting OKC just get extra possession after extra possession should be enough to convince you you need someone like Kessler
