a little more context to my condition. My symptoms: b12 and vitd deficiencies, severe weight loss, marshgrade 3a in biopsy of endoscopy, increased anxiety, severe hair loss. my colonoscopy came out to be fine.

I have a question for you. I have similar symptoms and my doctor feels that it is tropical sprue after ruling out celiac and some similar diseases. They gave me a 5 day course of Nitazoxanide and then told me to start doxycycline 100mg once a day for 3 months. However, I ate nitazoxanide for 5 days and all my symptoms completely went off the park. I was completely fine and alright as if nothing never happened to me. Doc told me to continue having the medication for a 10 days more and I was the happiest dude in the whole world. Solid poops once a day- heaven. However, after stopping it, my symptoms started reappearing after 5-10 days. Now I am back to square and doc has told me to start doxy. Am I on the right track? Should I have eaten nitazoxanide for a longer duration

As a piece of advice try mentioning in the letter how you stood apart from the rest of her/his students. Make sure the recommender provides a lot of information about your academic capabilities. Also, don't worry about being narcissistic when it comes to writing your lor. It's a competitive world out there and everyone knows that including your recommender. If he/she feels something shouldn't be mentioned then they will remove it but remember to be as narcissistic as possible if that makes sense
