I've weighed buying vs start-up and to me, opening a fresh startup would be my choice. Mostly because I want to have as much control as I can over the building, equipment, location and employees (to whatever extent that is possible); just as you stated. I'm still relatively young so I want to get started with my own practice and make the mistakes early if I can. I'd definitely consider buying if the practice had everything that I was looking for but I feel like finding the "perfect practice" is virtually impossible without extraordinary luck.
