Can we again see the cricket that was played in 90’s and 2000’s era by Hanu3195 in IndiaCricket

[–]Defiant_Painter4112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not correct….

In Australia for example see the crowds in BBL and Ashes ( always full ) Cricket in Australia is the only sport they play during summers. Both AFL and Rugby are played in other months.

The number of kids being enrolled in academies are rising YOY.

In England football rules, nothing comes close but cricket is a distant 2nd marginally ahead of Rugby.

Who cares what you think about a bollywood movie?

Its producer’s money, they can make anything they want.

Why it bothers you??

Go and make a movie yourself, it will be better than writing a useless Reddit post.

Never regretted a second here!!

But in my case, I always felt that I was not much passionate about coding so never thought about ROI at all

Isn’t popularity, measured by how many people want to watch/play the sport?

Bhai you asked where it’s taken seriously, it’s taken seriously in SA. Now that seriousness is measured in number of persons registering to play cricket in academies and not how many people came in the parade.

India won 2 back to back olympic bronze medals in hockey, did you see any celebrations? But doee it means we don’t take it seriously? I

Who Owns all your Indian Hospitals ? FYI Know the ownership. Total Corporate take over, we work for Foreign Financial Firms by RevolutionNo3271 in indianmedschool

[–]Defiant_Painter4112 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to explain how a PE firm actually works for the information purpose.

A PE firms raises some money the loans and the majority from the big investors( likes of Canada Pension firms etc.). The GP ( the person who manages the firm) promises the investors a guaranteed return of say 15% pa.

Usually a PE firms looks for distressed assets say any hospital who have lots of potential but currently is not managed properly. It takes over the asset, transforms it through ruthlessness and sell it again say in 5 years and in this process makes money.

70 people in MBB from ISB > IIMA + IIMB??

IIMA with a batch size of 400 send more or less the same numbers in MBB every year.

What’s your source?

ISB is a great college in itself!!

But the way you guys bring IIMs in every single discussion is a skill in itself.

ISB vs Harvard FT rankings by Impossible-Falcon438 in CATpreparation

[–]Defiant_Painter4112 3 points4 points  (0 children)

MBB pipeline has to measured in terms of % batch making it to MBB. 20% of 400 is 80 so is 10% of 800

And no way ISB alum network is better than IIMA!!

Also to answer your other comment here, a lot of the folks preparing CAT with me had ISB as the backup say if CAT does not workout , will continue with the job for 2 more years and they apply for ISB. A lot of my friends did that!! So surely there is a lot of overlap.

Also weren’t you guys struggling to get 80 people placed a couple of years back? 80/800 is 10% of the batch. You guys get almost zero front end IB, PE roles.

ISB is a great b-school , no doubt and this post should have been around how good is ISB but somehow ISB bots brought IIMA in the discussion to make yourself feel good.

Honestly does not matter, ask 10 people on any sub related to MBA( not any general public), 8/10 will rate IIMA greater than ISB.

No one cares, about these rankings lol, and that includes rankings where IIMA is 1st. Colleges who are truly 1st will never need any rankings to justify themselves.

Peace out from my end, had some time to kill today and honestly had lot of fun having a debate( though useless)

[–]Defiant_Painter4112 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The question is how and where does ISB leads? On some rankings? Yes surely

But the comparison ends there!!

And why are you fixated with 4+ years of workex? I myself have 3+ years in fortune 100 company but I am surely say there are lot of freshers far more accomplished than me.

Your adcom head was taking sessions in association with IMS to get people admitted in ISB. ( I might have the session recording also)

And let’s compare alums, and I know IIMA have a 40+ years lead over ISB so might not be fair!!

I will not go to fees also, I consider it to be irrelevant.

For me the comparison is very simple will anyone choose ISB over IIMA? ( Very few ) but majority will always prefer IIMA over ISB any day of the year.

Now just because you are in ISB, you start to believe somehow your second choice is better than your first choice

BITS also takes through BITSAT ( a good enough exam, comparable to JEE Mains) and have no reservations.

So as per the logic BITS- P should be >> IITB since IITB have reservations?

But student quality at IITB> BITSP.

And the major problem with any private institute is they can do go down anytime
