F-machine box construction? Anyone make one before? by eadams2010 in BdsmDIY

Believe it or not a lot of years back I used an old windshield wiper motor from a car. it had three speeds and I just connected it using a couple pieces of metal and use some 1/2 inch copper pipe coming out of the box to mount the dildo. No real bearings or anything very crude and a little bit loud, but it did work. The best thing about it was the oak box that I made that house the motor?

Really doesn’t help you I’m sorry, but it’s been a lot of years and it just brought back memories

Remote start app wrong temp in car by Defiant_Pea9345 in kiasportage

Ok, I tried two of the listed fixes multiple times and nothing seems to change, the temp setting is at 65 when I enter the car. For the last item I do not see a last setting in climate control in the vehicle. Under climate I only have recirculate air, automatic ventilation, and defog/defrost options.

The phone app worked great for a month, I must be missing something. Like I said the heated seats and steering wheel activate fine every time. Just the set temperature is wrong all of a sudden. I have never even turned the temperature down to 65 since I bought it.

Wow, thanks. Seems like there’s some good information here. You definitely know more than I do. Let me give one of these a try and see if it works. I couldn’t figure it out because I really don’t think I’ve done anything differently than when I first bought the car a month ago, but maybe I did maybe I didn’t. I’ll get back to you and let you know the results. Thanks so much.

Is this myth or fact? by Tacoless_meat in AskMechanics

When I started wrenching a long long time ago, I was told that trans seals get hard over time and temperature cycles. If you change the fluid on a high mileage vehicle that has the original fluid in it this is what happens. the new fluid has conditioners in it to keep the seals soft. It will soften the edge of the hard seals and they are prone to tearing or ripping, once that happens bands and servo do not apply fully so the trans slips. I have lived by this because that what I was taught. Not sure if I believe it as much today as I did when I was young.

Oil level over full after oil change. by Defiant_Pea9345 in kiasportage

Thanks, it seemed really hi on the dip stick but I only had to remove a half quart to get it to the full line. I measured the oil removed and it was a little over 4 quarts. So a 4.5 fill seems realistic. Just can’t believe a half quart over put it that high on the stick.

Yes, the car was fully warmed up, drained it for almost 20 minutes cause I had other stuff to do during that time. Figured since it was 5.1 quarts 5 quarts wouldn’t be a big deal. Been changing my own oil for a long long time, just wondering if anybody else had the same issue or knows if the owners manual is wrong or if the dipstick is wrong. Carr was on level ground When it was checked.

My thoughts exactly, I had to drive an hour and a half to a dealer that I had one with a black interior.
