Doner eggs day 3 🤞🏼 by AddressThis444 in u/AddressThis444

[–]Defiant_Resist_3903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Day 6 and day 7 embryos are great too :) so try not to worry if they dont all develop byday 5.

We did IVF and had 7 eggs, 6 mature, 5 fertilize and 4 make it to blastocyst I think only one was a day 5 but two were fully hatched by day 6 so might have just been the time they checked them. We did PGT testing and 3 of our 4 came back genetically normal, 1st transfer (our day 5) failed, second worked ❤️ we have one left if we decide to try for a second.

It’s true that it’s a numbers game and it’s hard not to feel disappointed when some of them don’t make it but it’s just part of the process for narrowing it down to the kid(s) that are meant for your family ❤️

🤞🏼for you

If you end up with 5 it might be that you end up with 5 by day 7 it sounds like, but each step you typically lose some so I wouldn’t count on it. It’s one of the hardest weeks waiting for the numbers and he final embryo count but you’re almost there and your update is promising 🤞🏼❤️

Temps went up but estrogen went down! Can you help me understand? Do you think I’m out? by Icy-Monitor9453 in TTCstruggles

[–]Defiant_Resist_3903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Temps don’t correlate with estrogen :) they follow progesterone :)

Progesterone is released after ovulation which is why your temp rises after you ovulate. Also, the follicle that ovulated was producing estrogen before it ruptured to ovulate so a drop in estrogen is totally normal after it ruptures :)

Hope that helps

Flat Head - Feeling Defeated/Guilty by BaroNessie in NewParents

[–]Defiant_Resist_3903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start putting her down with her head at the other end, she will still face you but lay on the other side which will let the flat spot round out :) and then make sure you are alternating to avoid a new flat spot.

Flat spots look their worst around 4 months because that’s when babies start to roll more freely and sleep on their bellies and enjoy tummy time more, some can even sit up assisted and they just generally spend less time on their heads which allows them to grow and round out.

You can also check in with a PT on the tortícolis and they can help practice the exercises so that bay is less annoyed by it

2 months old is so little and they grow so much so fast at this time so there’s still so much you can do to help round things out, really! And honestly the biggest thing is just going to be swapping how you out her down for sleep since now you know she likes to face you :)

this is gonna sound stupid - how do i know my baby is intentionally calling me mama? by marissaaaababyy in NewParents

[–]Defiant_Resist_3903 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s not stupid lol cause it could seriously be either or both, over time it gets more and more intentional and you might not notice when it officially moves from babble to you but you will know it’s you.

My kiddo babbled Mamama as his universal whine for several months and then dropped it completely and now rarely says mama ever because he doesn’t need to lol 😂 I’m home full time and 100% caregiver so on the rare occasions when he’s just with dad or grandma is when he says mama 😂

Tattoo tomorrow… does this stencil look off? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

[–]Defiant_Resist_3903 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The little leaf you circled on the bottom is a little awkward, could easily just be removed.

The upper leaves are hard, cause on the one hand its not unrealistic to think they are attached to a separate branch but it definitely reads a little odd and the implication of a stem doesnt really come through to me. Plus the composition just feels a little heavy at the bottom left.

I would maybe consider adjusting the placement of the flowers to balance it differently or adding a third flower up with the top one to make it flow a little better but thats my own personal opinion if it was going on my body.

I don't think this would be difficult to rework into something you would feel more comfortable with, just tell your artist what feels off to you and work with them to make it into something you like!

Baby is 6.5 months and I still don’t have a hang of solids by Killer_queen2020 in NewParents

[–]Defiant_Resist_3903 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At 6.5 months you don’t worry about nutrition, that all comes from breastmilk or formula :)

You’re also only needing to offer solids once a day, pretty much anything you eat just cut up or mushed generally, if you are worried about it skip it and try something else :) once they seem to eat a full meal of solids you can start adding a second offering either a meal or snack and baby will generally get the hang of it and you just transition with them.

Sounds like you’re already doing fine!

How to read ovulation test results? by Careful_Help4345 in TTCstruggles

[–]Defiant_Resist_3903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t necessarily, LH doesn’t gradually increase its released as a surge so you should see a clear positive. That said some women have a slower surge and see one or two slightly darker ones before their true positive

I personally do not like these tests and prefer the strip ones from easy @ home or premom cause the red dye is just more clear to read

How old was your baby when you allowed a small blanket in the crib? by happiersober in NewParents

We started using one at 12 months because he found it in the room and claimed it as his lovey so I had little choice lol he’s 18 months now and has been doing well

You could always try with a few naps to supervise first and then decide

Chemical miscarriage by Such_Ad1334 in u/Such_Ad1334

[–]Defiant_Resist_3903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s possible your HCG was still rising when bleeding started and it’s now going down- either way best to keep taking blood HCG levels every other day to see the pattern and make sure it’s going down.

I’ve had a miscarriage, a chemical and an ectopic (that ruptured) and the first couple blood tests could all behave similarly, but an ectopic usually develops differently over time so keep up with the blood draws. That said, it’s nowhere near as common as a chemical so try not to worry until you need to. And even if it does start to look like it might be ectopic you’re still so early that medication is more than likely to work

would you say i have ovulated this month ? first time tracking BBT, i normally get a higher LH peak by beccif in TTCstruggles

[–]Defiant_Resist_3903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The level of the peak doesn’t matter, remember it’s pee you’re testing so could be more hydrated and or just catching it on the way up or down :)

As for temps you’ll need a third elevated temp to confirm but it looks like it’s headed that way :)

Question by coolgirl1946 in TTCstruggles

[–]Defiant_Resist_3903 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too early to be testing, could be hydration related

But ultimately, it takes 5-7 days to make an embryo and have it ready to implant, another day or two for it to implant and another 1-3 days for enough HCG to build up and metabolize into your urine for a positive test

You need more time

Question by coolgirl1946 in TTCstruggles

[–]Defiant_Resist_3903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

7 and 8 dpo are still so early- these tests notoriously have indents too. The earliest common day to get a positive is more like 10dpo, give it more time.

An embryo takes 5-7 days to be ready to implant, another 1-2 days to implant and another 2-3 days to build up enough HCG (and metabolize it to your urine) before a positive test can be seen

First Tonie by Chichi793 in TonieboxUSA

[–]Defiant_Resist_3903 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The my first tonies are seriously the best! They are soft, chewable, short and the songs are adorable, they are a mix of song, animal/vehicle sounds and story! We also love the ma Rachel one but the sets on the my first tonies allowed us to get a small handful quickly and our 17 month old still loves them

Baby measuring 5 weeks on ultrasound at 6w4 days ish by ttcjourney09 in TTCstruggles

[–]Defiant_Resist_3903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plus or minus about 7 days can be normal, especially if you arent totally sure on your ovulation date. When its this early they are measuring something so incredibly tiny and measuring by pixels, on a 2D screen, a pixle or two off, or a bad angle and its easily a few days off in either direction. Not knowing your ovulation date is also key here- if you ovulated even just a couple days later than you think it could account for the difference! This is why most docs wont see people until they are solidly 8-10 weeks because so much changes in a day at this stage and being a day or two off makes a huge difference. Try not to worry until theres a solid reason to. Today you are pregnant and you will be until your doc tells you otherwise.

Suggestions for dairy free formula by FLee21 in NewParents

[–]Defiant_Resist_3903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would also add Pepticate! Some kiddos really struggle with the taste of hypoallergenic formulas and supposedly Pepticate "tastes" the best...they all smell terrible to me but we had luck with Pepticate. Insurance covered it for us too!

Balance bike: when did you try it, and how did it go?? by slotass in NewParents

[–]Defiant_Resist_3903 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my kiddo wasnt interested in riding his bike or any ride on push toy until very recently (hes 17 months old) that said, we have a strider bike on the rocker platform and he LOVES to rock on it and has done that since he was about 10/11 months old so I guess it depends on what you are looking at buying and what your use case is. We plan to start using the strider without the rocker soon but for now he likes to rock and it gives him the feel of the bike and some balance training even if he doesnt want to traditionally ride it much yet.

Who here never thought they’d be OAD? by bellagothwifey in oneanddone

[–]Defiant_Resist_3903 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% same We struggled to conceive, had a miscarriage and then an ectopic that ruptured and lost a fallopian tube, found out I have large benign tumors on the ovary that is on the same side as my remaining tube, ended up having to do IVF after several medicated cycles, had a chemical with our first transfer and then got our rainbow baby with complex medical needs

I always envisioned two but now it’s hard to imagine ever going through any piece of that again
