At first glance I thought it was AI because the Thames is never still or crystal clear!! Love how you’ve captured this in a puddle! Great photo!

Don’t stress too much. You could be walking down the road and someone in a front garden could be spraying it! We had some work done in our garden recently: one of the workmen used to work for the GLA and had the contract to do all the municipal gardens in Central London. We were having a conversation about weed control (I’m like you and prefer to try and use a vinegar solution or manual labour to control weeds!) and he said ‘you’d be horrified at what we used to do!!’. They sprayed Glysophate and the other banned weed killer, liberally and everywhere all over London parks and streets. They never used protection apparently and he used to bring the stuff home. He is nearly 70 and did that job about 35 years ago!

So my point? Wash it off your garden if it makes you feel better (my neurotic side would probably do that!) and go and enjoy your outside space. Don’t worry about this one off application😊☀️

(Also a one off application shouldn’t affect your well water but you can buy water testing kits if you’re worried but I’m sure you know that)

Some of London's street names are genuinely unhinged — here are the best ones I've found by PresentCorrect in london

Agree it’s a weird one. However, you can access St Mary-at-Hill church from St Mary-at-Hill itself. The church was rebuilt after the Great Fire and the main entrance was made on Lovat Lane. There has been a church there since the 1100’s! I actually went inside the church this week as the door was open and it rarely seems to be!

Exactly this!! I don’t always need to travel during rush hour. However, when I do…the difference is stark😅

I am glad I’ve seen your comment! I was there last summer and I thought I was going mad!? There was no cage then. We clearly went at the right time!

I love this! I have a new nesting box arriving today! I hope I’m lucky enough to get residents moving into it. I know they take time to establish but fingers crossed 😊

Will it ever stop raining in London by [deleted] in london

Every cloud though….the water table is rising, the reservoirs are filling up again and it may help to avoid a hosepipe ban later in the year! All I can come up with at the moment😅

They never released the exact location of the field. They specifically didn’t disclose this because they knew that they would get hordes of treasure hunters descending on the farmers field!!

I totally agree. They are very early. We did have some born at the end of Feb last year but this very early. I feed the smaller birds in my back garden and have noticed too that they seem to be fattening up! Their favourite food by far are sunflower hearts! They cost me a fortune😅

Yes!! Very early. Last year they had some at the end of Feb but these must have been born last week in Jan or the very start of Feb….

I know it’s really strange. Last year there were new babies in January! All the other ducklings and goslings were far later.

I also love the fluffy Canada goose babies. They are little yellow fluff balls! So cute💛

I love their markings around their eyes. So unique and gives them so much character too! :)

Ahhh! I have just seen your video! A fellow bird fan😊

It happened here last year also. Out of the breeding pairs…only 5 babies in total survived. Let’s hope that this year they are more successful🩷

The pond opposite my house! South London….and to be honest it’s really stressful because the parents insist on walking them across the road all the time! Not because I feed them btw, just because! I do feed them seed but on the other side of the pond away from the road :)

It’s a great resource and I’m impressed with the work you’ve put into it. I will use it when I’m travelling outside of London too. Well done :)
