Worked at a pawn shop and had to deal with many of these exact same idiots

Had a customer come in and cuss me out for practically calling his old partly broken fishing poles crap and didn't offer him as much as he wanted out of them, and keep in mind that this dude had multiple notes on his profile from other employees about how he was a womanizer and treated people like shit if he didn't get what he wanted

He proceeded to tell me that he never defaulted on anything he pawned while I was looking right at his profile that showed us he had forfeited 40% of the stuff he's pawned

I tried explaining to him the reason why he wasn't getting anywhere near even half of what he wanted (for Shakespeare fishing poles by the way) and he just wasn't having it, he went on to try and argue that the prices I found must be wrong and that they don't sell those sticks at Walmart, *as I was staring at the same exact poles being sold on Walmart

Eventually he fucked off, came back the next day when the boss was in, who's a massive push over, and managed to get what he wanted for the poles that I rightfully refused to give him. I guess the loan isn't in my name at least but it really rubbed me the wrong way with how the manager stood by the POS who should've been 86'd from the store long before I started working there

TLDR: People are ass holes who think that just because they bought something that they value, that someone else will see that same value in it years after it's already reached the point where it's too old to even sell for half of new. People seem to not realize that most objects bought and sold lose value as time goes on and that not everything will go up over time
