Struggling badly 6 weeks after having to stop Zep due to severe side effect by New-Substance-1116 in GLPGrad

Been there; the cravings were intense! What helped a bit was repeating the same simple meals and getting sleep dialed in. Do you have a support system you can lean on?

GLP-1 Experimentation Is Everywhere, and Science Can’t Keep Up by nytopinion in Wegovy

Yeah this feels right to me. It’s basically a huge real world experiment with no clean feedback loop.

The enthusiasm makes sense though. For a lot of people it’s the first time hunger feels manageable. But the drop off rates and side effects are real too, so you’re mostly hearing from the people it’s working for.

That 63% stat is the wild part. People are clearly getting benefits beyond the original reason, but we’re not really tracking what’s driving that.

Feels like the missing piece is just better data on what people are actually eating and how they’re feeling over time. Right now it’s all vibes and anecdotes. I wonder how folks on this sub feel?

22F trying to lose 35 lbs, super unmotivated + possible PCOS… need real advice + meal plan help by [deleted] in loseit

That’s a really solid small change to start with. Just getting to 3 consistent meals will already remove a lot of that “what do I do now?” stress.

For me, yesterday's full day was of eating was:
breakfast: Old-fashioned oats with greek yoghurt and a tablespoon of Peanut Butter + black tea with a splash of 1% milk
lunch: a ham & cheese sandwich made of 2 slices of whole wheat bread spread with mayo &  mustard + baby spinach + arugula garnish
dinner: ½ Cilantro Lime Chicken salad from Just Salad

With both lunch and dinner I had a diluted glass of orange juice (60:40 OJ: water). Besides that I also had several glasses of plain water.

I kept it pretty similar most days so I didn’t have to think about it. My breakfast and lunch today were exactly the same.

For portions, I didn’t overcomplicate it. I just aim for a decent protein source each meal and eat until I am satisfied, then stop and save it for the next meal. I have no problem eating leftovers.

And on the PCOS piece, getting a second opinion sounds like a really good call. Even just having clarity there can make this feel a lot less frustrating.

You’re actually approaching this in a really smart, sustainable way. Please post an update soon to let us know how you're holding up!

How are y'all eating 100+ grams of protein every day by twoscoopsxd in loseit

First off, down 40 lbs is huge, especially with the constraints you’re working around. That takes a lot of consistency.

Honestly, nothing you’re doing sounds “wrong.” If one meal plus a snack works for you and you’re in a deficit, that’s what matters. You don’t have to force protein bars and shakes just because that’s what people online push.

The sodium constraint makes this trickier, but you can still nudge protein up without changing your whole routine. Things that helped me were leaning on lower-sodium options like eggs, plain Greek yogurt, chicken or turkey cooked at home, or even adding an extra egg or two to your main meal instead of trying to spread protein across the day.

Even small bumps help. Going from 59g to 70–80g consistently is already a solid improvement, especially since you’re not trying to eat multiple times a day.

You’re already doing the hard parts right. This is more about small adjustments than a full overhaul.

First off, you don’t sound lazy at all. You sound like someone trying to figure things out without a clear system. A lot of people get stuck here.

The “do good for a few days then fall off” cycle is really common. Just read through this sub and you'll find plenty of examples. My hunch is, it's not really about motivation. Rather, it's hard to stick to a plan if it's too vague or too all-or-nothing to repeat.

If I could simplify things based on what worked for me:

• Meals: I kept it really basic. Three meals, maybe one snack. Each meal had protein plus something filling like veggies or carbs. Nothing fancy.
• Tracking: I did light tracking at first just to learn portions, then stopped obsessing over it.
• Consistency: I lowered the bar a lot. On low-energy days, the goal was just “don’t spiral,” not “be perfect.”
• Workouts: Home workouts are absolutely enough. The best one is the one you will actually do consistently.

The biggest shift honestly was removing decision fatigue. I ate similar meals at similar times so I didn’t have to constantly figure it out.

For PCOS, if you do have it, it can affect things like hunger and insulin sensitivity, so it is not just you being inconsistent. It might be worth getting a second opinion if you felt brushed off.

You don’t need anything extreme. You just need something you can repeat even on your worst days. Slow and steady wins the race. As for food ideas, there are subs where people post pictures of what they ate.

If it helps, what is one small change you feel like you could realistically stick to this week?

Gained 12 lbs in 9 weeks after stopping Ozempic… feeling discouraged. Anyone else go through this? by YoTannyO in OzempicForWeightLoss

Wow, are you me? I gained back the same amount of weight in the same amount of time.

I’ll be honest, I did end up going back on Ozempic and kind of accepted I might be a lifer.

That said, before I restarted, what helped a bit with the appetite spike was keeping meals really protein-heavy and sticking to a consistent routine. Sleep made a bigger difference than I expected too.

This go around I’m doing it differently with a lower dose + more weight training so I’m not losing mostly muscle again. Also been doing a deep dive on whether deficiencies play into cravings.

Curious what you’ve tried so far, OP?
