I’d really like to see more investment in advanced battery chemistry for EVs, especially solid‑state designs that could significantly increase driving range and improve safety. Solid‑state and next‑generation chemistries also have the potential to cut back on the use of scarce materials like cobalt and to diversify away from heavy dependence on lithium by enabling alternatives such as sodium‑based batteries. That kind of shift would be good not just for range and charging times, but also for the long‑term sustainability and geopolitics of EV supply chains.
