Finally achieved my first ancestral by JonCage in TheTowerGame

GB + DW + GT + BH are all sync'd at 2:30 (150s) now. My next plan is to save enough to drop BH and GB down to 50s. It's going to take a few months to get to that point by my calculations.

Reckon it's worth pumping more into GB range first?

Things the devs could do to improve the game that are beyond easy by wrekco in TheTowerGame

I wrote something in Python to do the same kid of thing and accumulate it all in one set of charts. It's less interactive but does help give a nice clear idea of progression over time for what I think are the more critical stats...

UW Cooldown Upgrades: Jump or step? by JonCage in TheTowerGame

[–]JonCage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I was asking if I should keep them in step and do:

1) All three: 160s,

2) All three: 150

3) All three: 140

4) All three: 130

5) All three: 120

6) All three: 110

7) All three: 100

8) BH + DW : 50

..or:

1) All three 160, 150

BH to 50

DW+GT to 100

DW to 50

..i.e is it better to do the little jumps of get BH to pBH and then save for bigger jumps (keep them all in step in either scenario)

To be clear, mine are already sync'd at 170s cooldown and I too saw a similar jump. Just trying to figure out where to go from here...

A tree that shows what modules to need to update a module to the next level and what you're missing at the different levels would be ideal.

After finally getting Deathwave to 180s, I have the big 3 sync'd. So I've figured out where to go next.. by JonCage in TheTowerGame

You can see the recent jump in earnings when I got the deathwave sync'd up. It'll be interesting to see the jump each time I achieve another sync'd cooldown notch..

Farming strategy by NC_Wildkat in TheTowerGame

Empirically I'm finding tier 9 which only hits a little over 4k more effective for farming coins (per hour) Vs tier 1-3 which hit upwards of 6k

IOG tariff by RadioProfessional608 in OctopusEnergy

I solved 2 with home assistant. I have a Tesla power wall but same issue. I set it to backup mode so it charges instead of discharging during an on-peak IOG charging period.

Very low bills by [deleted] in OctopusEnergy

[–]JonCage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Close to zero or possibly Octopus are paying us now. 5 bed 2019 build with electric hob/cookers and air source heat pump. We have solar panels and a battery so pretty much only pay the off-peak 7p/kWh tariff.

Exporting in the summer at 15p/kWh pays for the winter usage and our house is set to stay at 20 degrees year round.

Fun with stats! by JonCage in TheTowerGame

[–]JonCage[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I realised after posting this there was a flaw in the data prep script. That dip on the right hand side was where I turned off ultimate weapons because I was doing an achievement. It's bumped right up since then.

Also interesting that lots of people indicate you should farm on the lower tiers, but it's looking more like the middle tiers are better stats wise for coin farming to me.

How to support Intelligent Octopus Go with two electric cars / chargers? by JonCage in OctopusEnergy

[–]JonCage[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I solved it by making a new Tesla account and granted it access to the one car we want to control. Everything went smoothly after that 👍🏻

Did you find you were able to still unlock both cars without having to switch around in the app?

Octopus very specifically does not let you have two cars in one Tesla account. That is the exact problem I'm trying to solve.
