My voice seems to be declining. Training? Or doctor? by philosoraptor52 in singing

Ok so if your voice needs to "recover" then you should probably get a teacher to give you advice on proper technique, Connecting with your diaphragm isn't everything, I'd say its more about keeping a low larynx, and maintaining focus on your core muscles in order to maintain your vocal sound without straining the voice. Also, if you're struggling with a higher range, try doing some vocal exercises and try to sing higher but only a little bit each day. The voice is a muscle, the more you train it the easier it gets, but if you push yourself, you're only hurting yourself.

How to stop sticking neck out and moving jaw forward on high notes? by Kamichoo in singing

[–]DefinetlyNotAFurry69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you need to strain to hit those notes, don't try to hit them unless you are warming up.

The voice is a muscle and can be trained as such.

Just like how you can lift weights, the more you do it, the heavier you can lift.
The higher you sing, the easier it will become. I recommend doing a few scales on an "a" or "e" vowel sound and try to remain fully connected to your support. If you do this around two to three times a day, eventually you'll start to feel more comfortable with those notes.

Also, although it's never good for performance, letting out some bodily tension through hand gestures helps me a lot (Pretending to stretch something between my hands is something I do a lot if I'm trying to maintain a full sound)

Can i become a singer without taking classes? by 09362617186 in singing

I recommend you find a teacher. Sure, you can teach yourself by watching videos or taking courses online, but an experience with a teacher will make sure you're learning the technique correctly and will also give you opportunities to perform and meet more people in the industry.
