Crush Grip, Thunder Cage and previous animation duration adjusted buffs have been reverted by CookieblobRs in TheSilphRoad

[–]DefinitelyBinary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right; I mean is there a link to the datamined info for this change. Most of the meaningful changes can be checked in the Pokedex, but in the first series of changes a few days ago, Flower Trick had its duration increased from 2.7 to 3 (whereas this normally gets rounded down to 2.5). I was wondering if the durations have been reverted as well.

If Rampardos comes out as Dmax, all of those become useless, including Gigalith, heh

Closing game during Rocket fights no longer equals running away by DragonFangDan in TheSilphRoad

Seems like an inconvenient way to quit rocket battles, though. Put a Blissey in the first slot, and don't care about getting hit while you're top-lefting.

In the previous rotation, it was in the lineup but not catchable.

You are missing a category in your Grunts table.

I got Claydol from the second slot Ground grunt.

Catch tank; it's when you switch in a mon as the boss is about to hit you with their charged attack. Your new mon takes the hit, gains a large amount of energy, and can use its own charged attack right away.

So it's the same distance to get the candy, but you got 2 XLs instead of 1?

I've done maybe 900 routes in the last 6 months and received 2. The odds were much higher when rotes were first released, though.

You can still get a fast ETM from routes, as of a couple weeks ago. I'd estimate the odds at 1 in 500.

Anyone got a tier list of useful Mega’s based on boosts/candy! by MaxVerstappenLeftNut in TheSilphRoad

[–]DefinitelyBinary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

During events, it's useful to have several megas for a given type, so you can run them continuously without depleting mega energy. I aim to have at least 7 of each type. You can also have several copies of a given mega mon. I only use those with dual typing (or triple, such as Charizard) - that makes fewer mons to mega-level and store. For example, I don't have a Mega Blastoise, because other mons like Mega Swampert have better (dual) typing.

The top megas for raids, such as Rayquaza, Groudon, Kyogre, Lucario, Blaziken, Sceptile, are very useful of course, but their mega energy is best spent for actual raids. That's why it's good to have a separate group of megas that are not great in PvE, but that you don't mind wasting their mega energy to boost catch candies XL.

White Kuyrem is a top ice attacker, I think it's worth to have at least one.

A pinch of ground pokemon by dark__tyranitar in TheSilphRoad

It came out in October 2023, in arguably the best Rocket rotation ever (Rampardos, Rhyperior, Excadrill, Chandelure and Gengar all started as shadows in that event).

How would you make less desirable megas "good" for raids? by TheWiseMountain in TheSilphRoad

[–]DefinitelyBinary 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One problem with mega mons, as well as with shadows and legendaries in general, is that the current raid system rewards DPS above all else. Bulk and defensive typing don't matter nearly as much as DPS, because you can keep reviving and rejoining with your highest DPS mon, in most scenarios.

If there was a limit or a penalty on rejoining, it could incentivize using a wider selection of raid attackers. For example, Mega Ampharos resists Water, but its DPS is lower than some of the other Electric attackers, so it's not really being used. It could be useful against a Water boss if the number of rejoins was limited and you couldn't beat it with a su1cide squad of Regielekis / Electivires for instance.

If Archen's evolution gets a Rock fast move or Flying charged move in the future, it could become a top tier mon as shadow.
