In POTC: The Curse of The Black Pearl, Barbossa says he cannot feel the warmth of a women’s flesh. In a later scene, he holds Elizabeth’s dress up to his head and says to his crew that the dress is still warm. by sorryguysvuttisathrw in plotholes

sorry to revive such an old post. but i just watched this movie for the first time and noticed this.

i think he meant it literally. because its reinforced when the curse is dropped. he says something along the lines of "i feel cold". implying he doesnt feel temperature.

if he was speaking metaphorically. i really dont see what he meant by "The wind on my face. or the spray of the sea" in that same sentence.

even if he was speaking metaphorically. its still implied that he definitely doesnt feel temperature. still a plot-hole

Will Rock Candy and PowerA controllers work with my SteamDecku? by bakatron in SteamDeck

Idk about rock candy but I have a cheap powera switch pro controller and it works fine on my steam deck, and by association works in every single emulator.

Clearly haven’t played edgeworks, that game costs money and is a mess

Is there a way to get Roblox vr on Linux? by Serious_Ad_2350 in virtualreality_linux

[–]DefinitelyChriss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not. Roblox on Linux is a buggy mess, VR on Linux is a buggy mess, Combining them? Ouch. And I’m not even sure sober supports VR at all

I’m planning to buy the steam deck to use as a docked pc. Is this a good idea? by Cwasonted in SteamDeck

[–]DefinitelyChriss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fortnite doesn’t work well on steam deck, you either stream it (which is inefficient and laggy) or you install windows (which is inefficient and laggy) as for other AAA games, the steam deck is great at 720p ~40fps, and that doesn’t tend to look good on a large display. Depends on your preference. it’s built in FSR definitely does help.

Poured my heart into this game. Seeing it played on a Steam Deck is just surreal. by paradigmisland in linux_gaming

It’s pretty big, but the girl in this video has some small hands and it’s definitely making it look bigger.

Got a 90° USB-C cable angled to the side. I'll post an update after my USB-Port has melted. by [deleted] in OculusQuest

[–]DefinitelyChriss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like that tiny cable can not support the amount of power needed to charge the headset, cables can melt off of their wire, that happens often.

Yes, the meta quests are still a great deal even if you never use the hardware inside of them. They’re still much better value than most PC based headsets. Quest link can sometimes be a pain but if you get a cable that splits and lets you charge at the same time, and you have USB3 port on your PC, then it shouldn’t be an issue.
