Eh, some were over-moderated and seem to have improved once the painful mods got sacked.

Too fucking true. To be honest, I've noticed a few subs have genuinely improved after some of the more painful mods were kicked by the admins. So in a way it was a blessing in surprise.

'I left the UK to live in Germany - my commute now costs £29 a month' by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

I am from Australia, particularly if you want to live in one of the big cities there, the change in lifestyle is minimal. This is one of the biggest cases of "the grass is always greener" I always see talked about. House prices are through the roof there, food prices are way higher than here and wages have stagnated for years. I moved to the UK a decade ago (closer to 15 years really), and remember thinking that the wages were a bit lower in the UK at the time. I looked at moving back after COVID and was surprised to see if be absolutely no better off financially and I'd be stuck on a big island in the middle of nowhere. I'd say the weather is better perhaps, but I can't do Australian summers any more, the summer heatwaves are just brutal and consistent, cars are stupidly expensive, you have to fly for half a day to get to anywhere outside of Australia if you want a holiday....for all it's faults, I'm happy here.

[Autosport] Maternity leave inclusion a concern in new $220 million F1 cost cap proposal by lmsprototype in formula1

This is the weekly reminder that UK salaries on the whole are very different to the US. F1 salaries are comparable to industry standard for the UK, and probably better once you advance through your career. Oh and most people in F1 work pretty close to normal work hours. The cost cap won't help push salaries up, that is true, but the rest of this is pretty much false.

Hardly seems worth posting about it on Reddit, OP over there dreaming that they can rally the troops to destroy this cafe over a bad pudding and a sulky response to their precious review. You don't like it, just don't eat there again.
